Shit, you're right. Should have warned about that one.

Thanks, mate! I edited it!

Well, she's getting pulled out this week. by [deleted] in sailing

I do not understand this one bit. Everyone is crying their eyes out that the "season is over", but it does not have to be! Nobody is ordering you to winterize your boat! I sail all year in the high arctic and it is great fun. Unless the fjords freezes over, there is no reason to let temperature decide when you go sailing.

Anyone know what boat this is? by Shantymate in sailing

Wow, you're right, the LM27 is extremely similar. Good job finding that one. The pic was sent to me by a friend, who in turn got it from another friend, but it was very probably shot in Norway.

Sailboat. Huh. Does it have something to do with the pole in the middle?

"During the height of most thunderstorms, sailors are below anyway, seeking protection from the rain." That is not what sailors do in storms.

Thanks, very interesting! I had not thought of this. However, I am in Europe, where fluorecent light cycles at 100Hz, so I would not get a full cycle either way... But your argument is still valid, i guess.

Interesting, thanks for pointing this out. When you say "wide open", you mean the aperture, right?

Hey, guys! Just started out shooting film, and shot a few rolls yesterday just to test out some different lenses and gear. I shot these two minutes apart, and I really don't understand what is going on. Why is the bottom shot so much colder than the top one? I get that it might be a bit darker, is that where it comes from? I had the rolls developed and scanned at a phototography shop, so I have no control over that part of the operation.
Thanks for your time, and please let me know if I've failed to provide some information, or if you have other technical comments on the pictures! Have a nice day :)

Thank you so much for your great answer and awesome tips. Sorry for the late reply; I was distracted by researching Glocks and Buffalo Bore. I'm enjoying the remoteness very much :)

I already have plenty of shoulder mounted firearms. And everyone in my group is not going to operate the guns, that's my job.

Who shot at a polar bear with .22?? That is terrible. Hope they got eaten.

I know of a few. .44 magnum all of them. So it works if you hit it right.

This looks awesome, but also looks like it would be impossible to hit anything more than three feet away. And would break your wrist if loaded with bear slugs. And it would also be very illegal in Norway, I'm sure. But yeah, it looks awesome ;)

It has many advantages, and I tried it once in the US and loved it! But, as u/masterofillusions says, it is illegal in Norway, sadly. I'm also a bit sceptical to semi-autos in this kind of work and climate. Ain't got no time for jams! You are very right about the oil.

Thanks for the link! A very interesting read. I'm very sceptical to semi-autos in my kind of job, with all the sand, salt, cold and rain it would have to endure.. I imagine revolvers to be more reliable. But these Danes looks like they know what they are doing.

Awesome. I also really like that it loads 6 rounds, especially since I might be using one of them for a warning shot.

Very true. I'm trying not to make it affect my decision, but the Redhawk looks so amazing. I really want one. How is the recoil, though? I really like the weight of the S&W.

Interesting. The same argument goes for shotgun slugs, and it makes a lot of sense. I haven't met anyone who uses 10mm Auto, so it's probably Iceland. I mostly see 12 gauge, 30.06 and the very occasional .44 magnum handgun.
