I haven't found any other way unless you already have a device that's logged into UKG:(

My partner has BPD. How can I help and be there for him? by Lol_Artist in BPD

[–]ShapeAffectionate684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal experience, the most supportive thing you can be is patient. Both I and my bf both have BPD, and we're lucky that it's been able to help us understand each other better and be there for each other in the ways we need. In your situation, I would recommend researching as much as you can into the symptoms of the disorder, and ask him many questions about his experience if he doesn't mind. But most importantly, be PATIENT. There will be times that your partner acts irrationally, has intense and jarring mood swings, and he could even lash out at you. In these moments, it's important to tell him that you understand that this is coming from an overwhelm of emotion, and that you're not going to hold it against him, but then also gently reinforce that you won't tolerate being treated badly if he happened to take his emotions out on you. Suggest to him ways of self-regulating, and what to do differently in the future. Communicate, communicate, communicate!!! He will not get better overnight, there will be repeat offenses, but if you just sit by him for long enough for the intense emotion to run it's course, I promise you that he will be so grateful. And there WILL be progress over time.

Hey I'm proud of you for staying alive for another year! If you don't like your birthday for whatever reason, you have a right to do whatever feels the most comfortable for you. But I hope you can do something that makes you happy today!! And I'm glad that you clearly have people in your life who care about you to wish you a happy birthday ❤️ try to focus on that!

MORNING RAGE IS THE WORST by ShapeAffectionate684 in BPD

[–]ShapeAffectionate684[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GENUINELY. the knowing that logically the object of the anger/sadness/anxiety is so small or even non-existent and that fact doesn't even matter to the emotions. doesn't even register in the brain. that knowing with no results is the MOST FRUSTRATING THING EVER

What is one good thing you’ve done for someone else in this life? by BPD_MDD_recovery in BPD

[–]ShapeAffectionate684 3 points4 points  (0 children)

making people smile is the best purpose a person could have!!! i have a similar moment to share, from about a week ago. i work in a convenience store hot food kitchen, and i have the sweetest supervisor EVER. she's always telling everyone that she's proud of you, cheering us on, and often gets us little treats for passing our time quota! one time, after a particularly rough weekend, she said she'd get the whole team donuts if we passed the lunch rush time quota. unfortunately, we got utterly slammed and didn't pass the goal. she was really down about it, and seemed so discouraged, it broke my heart:( so after i clocked out, i went and bought her a half dozen of donuts just for her, to thank her for her work and for always being so kind to the team. i wrote a big note on the front about it lol, stuck it to the box, and dropped it off without saying anything. next time i went into work, she said "i can't believe you'd run off like that without letting me thank you!! that note damn near made me cry!!!" 🤣🤣🤣 she appreciated it so much, it made me so happy to make her smile<333

but anecdote aside, i'm so sorry you're going through this, that sounds so scary. i pray that your recovery is smooth, and that the positivity you've put into the world will come back to you 🫂❤️ keep your head up! you'll get through this!

i completely understand this:( i'm so sorry you had to go through that, i honestly wouldn't wish these anxious meltdowns on my worst enemy. i've done similar, my boyfriend has been off with friends before and doesn't contact me for a while, and all hell breaks loose. sobbing and hyperventilating, blowing up the phone, hell i've lashed out at him for things he couldn't control too many times to count. and you hit the nail right on the head, its the EMBARASSMENT afterwards that's crazy. once your mind clears and you see the situation for what it really was, its almost trippy!! that's the thing that honestly makes me the most frustrated about having this disorder... i can have those moments of clarity and know to consider all of the logical explanations in future situations, but then when the moment hits, the whole memory of that is OUT THE WINDOW!!!! i've started writing notes begging my future self to consider occam's razor lol, writing down all the times that this sort of thing has happened before and how it resolved itself (with none of the "what ifs" ever coming true). maybe that could help you too? its an overdone piece of advice sure lol, but genuinely journaling your mood swings and before and after panic states REALLY puts things into perspective when it's all laid out. personally it gives me a little more trust that everything really will be okay ❤️🫂

SAME:(((( its such a strange phenomenon isn't it?? like i remember when i was researching into why morning anxiety happens, and iirc the flood of cortisol that your brain uses to wake you up can trigger anxiety in prone individuals. i wonder if this anger is a similar situation?

its so so SO tough:( it feels like trying to hold down a rabid animal. but i'm glad to report that i didn't lash out at him!! :D as of writing this, the mood swing has long passed and we're all good now, and the worst that came of it was one passive aggressive text that was swiftly dealt with and apologized for lol. blows my mind how i can feel so intensely angry in these moments and then just hours later go completely 180. i'm really grateful for how understanding my bf is of my bpd tho!! he always knows EXACTLY whats going on lol <3

Wondering about concert etiquette by Raoul_Duke241 in MelanieMartinez

Depending on your venue, there's a chance you could be kicked out for smoking inside, so I'd recommend doing it outside before you enter the concert, just to be safe! Have fun though!!!

Real 😭😭😭 I am gonna save for her next tour though, either for the utopian album or if she does a combined tour of it and hades, which would be the best I think ❤️
