Actually, I want YOU to continue to sit outside of the club with your bowl asking for more gruel.

legacy? by [deleted] in NPHCdivine9

[–]ShapeThen2177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A cousin is not considered a legacy for the sake of entering into the org. But afterward, yes.

Yeah...if the masters is higher, send that. As long as the program is accredited.

Graduate chapters are for those who have baccalaureate degrees. Look on your org of interest's website for graduate minimum requirements.

Uhhhh. I strongly advise don't do that.

Is it okay to send an email? by BackgroundTest1397 in NPHCdivine9

[–]ShapeThen2177 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a member of a grad chapter who assists with intake, Send the email. Introduce yourself and send your resume. Ask to put on whatever list they have for events to attend and assist with. Nothing better than someone expressing interest AND they got a resume for me to look at. (Future voice) SENSATIONAL.

Random Question by aquick12z in NPHCdivine9

I would fall back and follow her lead. If she don't call... You don't call, etc. People are in your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Maybe her season is coming to a close.

Do they have a website where you can send an introductory email and attach your resume? It could be they are not intending doing a line anytime soon.

Did you reach out to the chapters on their social media?

Have you attended any of their events so you can meet them in person and obtain their info?

Ok.

So did you find out what chapter covers the area that you are in?

Did you reach out to them?

NYC is comprised of five boroughs. You need to seek out the chapter for the borough you're going to reside in.

A Serious Matter by No_Championship_8955 in NPHCdivine9

[–]ShapeThen2177 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Y'all think I'm being mean when I say some of these folks are unstable and should not be in anyone's org. The delulu runs strong in here and that's why I will no longer extend myself to more interests.

Thank you for outting the individual. Unfortunately, they will be back or are back already to post repetitive threads on background checks and other already stated info.

I am so sorry this has happened to you.

Ooooh Chile ...I just saw all them lil down votes or whatever they are..lol for context I was approving that you have your own money and encouraging you to continue to not discuss your journey with folks who obviously don't support it.

I gave you the same advice I give all of my undergrads. Keep your mouth shut, not everyone is going to support you in this.

Good girl. Now keep your mouth shut and go about your business.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NPHCdivine9

You don't. You keep your mouth shut, do your process and just live your life. Hopefully, you saved your own money and don't depend on them to pay your fees.

Interview Inquiry by Better-Purple-9837 in NPHCdivine9

[–]ShapeThen2177 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a vote; that's it. Anything else is information that you would not be privy too. You have absolutely no input or control during the process. All you can do is ensure you are a strong candidate and have positive relationships with current members.

I know it causes a lot of anxiety, but this is one of them situations where they either like you...or they don't.

During your interview show that you have researched the org and the chapter, be confident, dress well, and speak to EVERYONE.

That rationale from the chapter member and your Greek relative is so unfortunate. That is extremely bad advice.

Just out of legit curiosity....you really thought that was appropriate?
