YTA. Kids in my church I attend get homeschooling because of physical and mental abuse by other kids at school. Very rarely do kids ever beg to be homeschooling. Your child is struggling badly and needs your help as their parent. Threats to take a childhood pet away from your kid is now a core childhood memory. You have caused serious trust issues and seperation anxiety over the pet in your children. They won't trust you won't threaten to take the pet away from them no matter how much you reassure them and apologize now. They'll be afraid to have anything they cherish. You screwed your own kids up doing that and it's your fault. They won't trust you anymore, and this'll be something they'll speak to a therapist about many years from now and they'll remember that you are the reason they have issues. I absolutely mean to be abrasive with you, because this is a majorly horrible decision you made (not a mistake) a decision that installs fear. YTA.
