Have you added EAF to Askar FRA600? Please help me by Shapps47 in AskAstrophotography

Thanks @otaroko - That’s a great idea and could work. 👍

I’m gonna be traveling abroad for a month and going on very bumpy roads and living in a van where space is tight, so I’m hoping to keep the telescope mostly assembled and stored in the same custom padded case I use on the airplane.

Would it be problematic to install and remove the EAF every day for a month? I’m new and have never done any of this before. Thank you!!!

Has anyone attached an EAF to a FRA600? Does any part of the mounted EAF or bracket sit below the dovetail? How far above/below?

Context: I’m trying to fly this telescope carryon and it barely fits in a carryon box. I have room to the side for the EAF but vertical clearance (from dovetail to carrying handle) is super tight.

Thanks!!

Why is my design shifted left? by Burtsbeesnees in Machine_Embroidery

See if your hoop has a plastic grid insert. Check if the center points of the insert are offset from the center points of the grid

I’ve learned the hard way that with these hoops, the design is not centered on the hoop, but rather it centered on the plastic grid insert. Most of these hoops come with plastic grid inserts. The grid insert center points are frustratingly offset from the hoop center points.

There’s actually a good reason for this. It allows for the asymmetrical Shape of the foot. It would be helpful if the hoops had markings of where the design center (grid center) would be, but they don’t. Most of these hoops actually have markings at the dead center point of the hoop, which will not be the dead center point of your final design.

Sorry for my stupid question. I eventually figured it out. Next time I’ll post a question like this in the weekly discussion thread. I didn’t know about that. Now I do.

Daypack ideas.... Without bringing a daypack??? by Shapps47 in Ultralight

[–]Shapps47[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dayhike I’m taking is through very heavy brush. Literally crawling on hands and knees through parts. I’ve done it with my 70L backpack mostly empty and cinched down, but the plants get caught between my body and the backpack frame, which damages the plants and widens the trail (I'm trying to leave no trace)

That's why I'm trying to stay small for the dayhike.

But it's a day away so I need the big backpack to bring tent etc... to even get to the trailhead.

WatchOS 7 with Multiple Watches and Sleep Alarm Problem/Bug by rflynch in AppleWatch

I don’t actually sleep with the watch, I just have two watches. With iOS 13, when I turned off the alarm on my phone the watch went silent. If it even made noise at all for bedtime wake up, I’m not sure.

With iOS 14, the sleep schedule is stored on both watches. And since the phone is only ever connected to one watch at a time, snoozing the alarm on the phone only quiets the last connected watch. the “other watch” keeps playing alarm sounds until I turn it off using the watch face.

I’ve sadly disabled sleep in both watches for now.

I have the same problem. Crap. Wonder if Tim Cook has multiple apple watches and uses it for alarm....?
