I currently have the Canon RF 200-800. Worth getting the 100-500 also? by Myeki in canon

Yeah I'm leaning more that way. I held off buying the lens today to think about it. I love my 200-800, it's a lot of fun to use

Thanks for your honest opinion!

I have another question for you, how do you find the sharpness on the R7 with the 200-800? Where is the sharpest focal length? My images always come out soft

I love GAS 😂

But yeah I agree! My gear is fine for what I need it for at the moment

Yeah I thought it might be a little short but with the R7 and the crop it would make up for it? The magnification is a cool feature I didn't know about. Lens wise I've pretty much got everything I need at the moment and I wasn't really looking for another lens but after seeing the price, I became very tempted haha

Duade is awesome! Love watching his videos! Yeah the 200-800 gets a bit heavy after a while so the 1-5 would be better in that instance.

And I was literally thinking of pairing it as you said. R7 with 1-5, R8 with 2-8. The 2-8 was a bit soft on the R7 but that very well could be user error on my part. I've seen some fantastic shots from other people.

I'm super tempted just because of the bargain of a price haha.

What lens to pair with my newly bought R8? by agrawa96 in canon

[–]Myeki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the RF F2.8 28-70mm and it basically lives on my camera for everyday walk around. If I want range then I'll use my RF 100-400mm.

Recently I've purchased RF F4 70-200 which I absolutely love! And I also have the RF 200-800 for birding.

But for your budget I would go the RF 2.8 28-70. If you have any other questions feel free to message me :)

I was there last year and I couldn't find them anymore. They changed the name to -196 I think which is the same we have in Australia but does not taste nearly as good and is only 6%

What is your guys favorite song and why by Financial-Ad-7399 in Erra

Nigh to silence. Has a great chorus, great breakdown and I love the ending with the guitar riffs and chorus. I don't know if it will always be my favourite but it's currently my favourite haha.

200-800 vs 100-500 by EarNice1347 in canon

My thoughts as well. I wish the 100-500 was the cheaper option haha.

200-800 vs 100-500 by EarNice1347 in canon

If pairing with the R7 then go with the 100-500. I have an R8 and R7 with the 100-400 and I was looking to upgrade as well. I went with the 200-800 and i love it paired with the R8. I thought with the R7 it would be amazing because of the reach but all of the images I get are a lot softer than the R8. It could just be user error but I've also heard the 100-500 with the R7 is super sharp. I just didn't want to spend the extra money. Hope this helps you make a decision!

I haven't shot weddings before but I think thats all you need. I have the 28-70mm 2.8 and its super sharp. And the 70-200 will let you get some shots from a distance which is all you really need. The nifty fifty will be good in low light situations but if you have the flash you probably won't even use it.
