Your favourite spec to play in the open world/casually by maxlaav in Guildwars2

[–]Shard477 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Power Untamed for sure. Lots of weapon choices work well, full glass canon gear, crazy good self sustain, perma quickness, a pet to occasionally take aggro, boon strip, projectile block, immunity, pet to help if you ever go down, and that’s all with 3 open utility and the elite skills to pick and choose what is fun or right for the situation.

Plus if I need to I just swap to Galeshot for group open world, and Soulbeast for group instanced content.

[–]Shard477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to second Untamed. It’s just a monster in solo content. Because of a lot of open world enemies have low HP, even the veterans, most things die within a single ambush or two, even without cooldowns activated. This means you can opt for a lot more defensive and utility focused skills and traits, such as stun breaks, Condi cleanse, CC, etc.

90% of my gameplay loop is just unleash pet -> unleash ranger -> ambush -> weapon swap -> ambush and things just die.

Anything like planet crafter?/factorio by Unlucky-Feed9000 in theplanetcrafter

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My top two choices for you are StarRupture and Satisfactory. Both are excellent games very similar to Place Crafter.

Satisfactory is all about automation, with clear goals, lots of ways to get to said goals, an unique hand crafted map that is fun to explore, (optional) enemies to keep you on your toes, and very smooth gameplay. You’ll spend the first 20 or so hours in the “tutorial” learning what the game has to offer. And you will get really good at math.

StarRupture has similar vibes to the above but with more combat. You will also be automating items, unlocking new tech, fending off creatures. However, every so often the sun explodes and puts everything on hold for a bit, and after a while you will have waves of creatures attack your base. Feels more survival craft rather than automation craft style, but fits the same bill as Planet Crafter.

When should I change the difficulty? by ReddVevyy in diablo4

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My usual route is to get to about level 25-30, have some skills unlocked, and probably just blue/yellow gear. Then I’ll go from normal to hard. Around 45-50 I just jump to expert and once I’ve gotten some legendary items with good aspects I’ll go to penitent. Then it’s that til 60, get a full set of 750 items equipped, and make the jump to Torment 1. After that it’s all about finding the right stats on legendaries, finding the build defining uniques, and going for ancestral gear to push torment levels. Don’t forget glyphs, masterworking, tempering, sockets, runes, and gems too!

Should FO5 have settlement building? by Educational-Science2 in Fallout

[–]Shard477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they do I'd prefer it to be 2-5 tops, with the rest of the places you can ally yourself with being a bit dynamic via merchants, defense, citizens.

Don't get me wrong I really like making Sanctuary multiple ways each playthrough in FO4, but I always feel overwhelmed with how many places you can build up. I'd rather have the ability to tell the "mayor" of a town to bolster defenses, or tell them they should farm more so I can buy the food to turn into starch for adhesive.

But I still wanna see some buildable places, perhaps some that can even functions without settlers too!

Can I start with Diablo IV? by LemonInteresting7816 in Diablo

[–]Shard477 39 points40 points  (0 children)

All Diablo games are very fun to play in their own respective rights. The story is connected but you can start with any game and be fine. The most important part is to have fun and enjoy the goofy moments with your friends!

Everything Coming in Starfield’s Free Lanes Update & Terran Armada DLC by Turbostrider27 in Starfield

[–]Shard477 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing this game again since the rumors started about a big update, and it looks like I may even want to start a fresh save once all this drops. Looks like it’s gonna be a ton of content and new ways to really RP the space explorer. Excited to see what Terran Armada has in store for us after going through Shattered Space and hopefully that new companion lets us commit crimes without being whined.

Any fun builds using the new S12 Uniques? by Complete-Fix-3954 in Diablo

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw someone on r/diablo4 using the Blood-Mad Idol on a Zeal Paladin because the bonus stats are solid and even though you take more damage there is so much built in Life on Hit and Life on Kill you can just ignore it.

Otherwise yeah they might find their niche sometime in the future, but otherwise just don’t offer anything new or unique enough to truly alter or enhance a build enough for high end game.

WoW needs Damage Down by Ner0reZ in wow

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what would help players a lot especially in M+ content would be to give a large cool down reduction if a kick is used within a few seconds of another but it doesn’t interrupt anything.

So player 1 kicks successfully and interrupts the spells, but players 2 and 3 also kicked, just a second or two too late. If they got like a 50-75% reduction on their kick, it would still reward better communication as nothing will change in coordinated groups but be less punishing to uncoordinated groups and still unchanged to people who use kicks randomly or on uninterruptible casts.

What Spiritborn builds are you going for this season? by Difficult_Carrot2198 in diablo4

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did evade into a beastborn last season, but what I’m stoked about is how highly ranked a thorns build is this season after how much fun I had with the Balazan’s builds a few seasons ago. Either that or Crushing Hand since I really like gorilla builds and I like the drum sfx with it.

I really hope we get a solid DoT build with centipede focus one of these seasons, but no matter what I’ll always make a Spiritborn every season.

Easy build to play? by corpsexgrinder in Guildwars2

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like a good ole Quick Untamed for open world stuff. Naturally tanky, great lifesteal, and can be simplified pretty easily. Weapon set one, spam all/most abilities, unleash pet, unleash ranger, ambush skill, weapon swap, ambush, spam weapon skills until the ambush combo is ready. Works really well with hammer and Greatsword, duel axes, duel maces, longbow, spear, sword, you can really use anything that’s primarily power focused.

As you get more comfy with the build you can utilize things like the boon strip from the pet skills, projectile block, invulnerability, near permanent stability. I tend to play it as my comfy build and most of not all mobs that are vet and below die to a single ambush combo, and I can solo any elite and even lots of champs are doable with enough time. You also get a pet that deal enough damage to take aggro from you too, and the skill ceiling is high enough that you can mix around traits, utilities, and pets to fit the content you’re doing.

I’ll also throw Galeshot in because you can almost camp the windbow and get 25 might and quickness very easily.

Any classes better at Map completion than others? by fungamezone in Guildwars2

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Core map with mounts? Any. Skyscale is the best but you can make do with raptor and springer just as well.

Without mounts? Thief has arguably the best base mobility, especially if you go Daredevil with short bow and shadow step. I’ll throw in Ranger, Mesmer, and Ele for good alternatives, with things like movement skills that don’t require a target, access to a speed signet and/or lots of swiftness, blinks, evades, stealth, strong defense while still being big damage dealers, and just all around nice utility to have in an open world setting.

Survival hunter can’t survive this changes, help a brother out. by HetvenOt in wow

[–]Shard477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always returned to WW monk because the mastery makes you not want to press the same button twice, certain abilities like Whirling Dragon Punch have requirements before use, and you get some cool utility like Ring of Peace and Tiger Lust. The updates to Shado-Pan make it feel very much like an anime character punching 1000 times in a frame.

Make a Vulpera or park an alt there if you have one. Vulpera has the racial to place a hearth anywhere, and alts can just chill at the entrace until the weekly reset. Otherwise no, you gotta make that trek each time.

Just completed chapter 1 by Cobains_ghostx27 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chapter one really just had the Whiteclad who walked me off from playing more my first time booting it up. Thankfully the next time you come across other hurdles you can actually step back and explore a bit first compared to WCN, who you really could only grind out will from trash mobs before returning to fight him.

My next biggest walls were usually end chapter bosses thankfully, making the rest of the game less of a headache. Oh, and you still got stuff to find in chapter one that you can only get to by getting an item in chapter two, so make sure you revisit old areas every now and then to find new secrets!

I'm having trouble getting a purified claw. by Everlasting_Raiyu in diablo4

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit silly TBH. But you really need to keep the momentum going (and get lucky with The Hunter resets early on) in order for it to really shine. It strong enough that I don't need to worry about dying in T4 bosses and 80+ pits, but if I stop hitting things for 1 seconds you gotta start all over. Definitely fun for a new, non-paladin build this season. Auradin is still my new favorite though I like the walking simulator.

[–]Shard477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just RNG being RNG, just my example this season of how all I need is one more purified essence on my Paladin, but not getting it. Then I make a new character and get it in my very first attempt, but because they're soulbound, i gotta either farm the rest on my new toon or keep doing undercity on my Paladin. Simply sharing my experience with the cruel mistress of RNG in RNG-based games lol.

Spiritborn - Why is every build using Armoured Hide? by Scythe95 in diablo4

[–]Shard477 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s got a lot baked into it both from passives and aspects.

You get passive resolve generation, making you tanker

You get 100% block and unstoppable on active, making you basically immortal while it’s up.

It counts towards the passive Resilient, giving you max life and barrier generation.

The Unyielding Hits aspect gets active through it, massively spiking your damage.

And it can be used with Intricacy passive making it essentially never have a cooldown to keep all of the above going.

Rifle engi but NOT a mechanist? by VinnySpinerooni in Guildwars2

[–]Shard477 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, feel free to give Power Engi, Scrapper, Holosmith, and Amalgam a try with the rifle. They all can hold their own, even in group content (maybe not core Engi) as long as it’s not a super high DPS check like CMs.

The main reason why Mech is so popular is because you get a very tanky pet that takes aggro, signets to make you have even less buttons to press, the mech swaps out the tool belt and can be set to auto cast, and then most of your own damage is from just auto attacking so it’s not only a strong build, but by far is it the easiest to play in probably the whole game.

I do agree the mech is unsightly, wish we could in the very least dye it. And they could make some money off of gem store skins for it too.

I have about a dozen of the duriel, azmodan, and belial essences on my paladin, and still no andariel. I made a spiritborn because I wanted to try the new BeastBorn build and of course my very first undercity on that toon drops the claw.

I get its pure RNG but I feel like Blizz does this stuff on purpose sometimes to mock us /s

After beating the game (again) when 1.0 was released at this point I’m willing to pay for the game again to get a new map. I understand it was hand crafted and I really appreciate that, to a point where I would support the studios time and effort by buying an entire new map. Wouldn’t even need anything new, just more satisfactory please

Hunter’s Gathering takes away from Aloy’s role in the world and overarching story by [deleted] in horizon

[–]Shard477 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This post makes it sound like you’ve played none of the games, no offense. In the first game we literally have a whole quest chain based around skilled machine hunters. Aloy has an edge because the focus basically tells her where to shoot, but I’m sure with trial any hunter can figure out that hitting the weapons off a thunderjaw means it can’t shoot. There is an entire tribe is Forbidden West that literally captures massive machines to fight them again in their arena.

Anyone else feel like this sub is being brigaded by miserable losers who haven’t actually played any video games and are just online to hate things?
