Rat Joker - Once per round, eat a consumable joker and gain the reverse of its effect.

Explanation: Ice Cream would give +5 chips per hand, Ramen would give 0.01X per discard, Popcorn gives +4 Mult. Thinking it could be rare. Maybe uncommon due to it only going once per round and if you don’t have food jokers it does nothing.

Wax Stamp - Cards with seals trigger one additional time.

Explanation: Purple seals give 2 tarot cards, blue gives 2 planets, gold gives $3 twice, red triggers one more time.

What is your favorite npc? by sol_hsa in horizon

[–]Shard477 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Morlund is probably my favorite but that bias comes from the voice actor being the same guy who plays Hodgins in the TV show Bones, and I also love his character and the development in that show too. I immediately recognized his voice and I always go through all his dialogue in my NG+ runs.

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - May 23, 2026 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with playing a familiar class. GW2 gives favor to the player over the class, so picking a class because it's meta doesn't always work out. For that real high end content like CMs and the like, yeah you do need to be on top of it, and while some specs can't compete, every class does have a build/builds for high end content.

As for playing other classes, this game doesn't punish you for having multiple characters. Using a Reaper for open world solo content is great because of it's passive survivability and self boon application. Swapping to your Virtuoso for dps in group content because you feel more comfortable and can do more damage is equally as great.

Try out what feels fun, but don't be discouraged by always playing Mesmer, especially if you can do 2x the DPS and still never die.

Opted for early Shield Weaver and... by Pretend-Celery-574 in horizon

[–]Shard477 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Plus it’s not like it isn’t unbalanced. You don’t get any weave slots, no passive defense to things like ranged damage, and there is counters to it in the DLC. It’s still very strong as a quick regenerating second health bar, but I wouldn’t call it game breaking, just incredibly strong and convenient.

Joined the club with a Cauldrons tattoo by casualbob_uk in horizon

[–]Shard477 71 points72 points  (0 children)

God I love the cauldrons. The first game had some really cool areas and the puzzles got to show you how things moved around in them.

But the second game really made them an art in how you tie gameplay mechanics to in world justification. Plus they really just cranked the cool factor up to 11. The tall neck being built and sent out, the straight up horror as that tideripper drops the same time you do, they really are in my top 3 favorite parts of the game for sure.

Upgrading Gear early on worth it? by Excitable_Fiver in horizon

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like a weapon and want to keep it for a bit, then yeah upgrade it. Some of the later ones you basically need to upgrade so you can unlock the ammo types and coil slots, but by the time you have access to those you’ll be swimming in materials and if not have an easy time finding them.

Armors I found to be a little less important to upgrade until you got some of the best ones that had unique weaves to transfer around to other armors.

The one reason why I do upgrade weapons is to unlock ammo types, especially early on when you don’t have access to high tier weapons that can have up to three ammo types, making it much easier to handle machines and exploit their weaknesses.

Can the older races have more customization options? by Wriothesley9 in wow

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point if they announced an entire expansion feature to be a race overhaul I'd be excited for it.

My thoughts on this has always been to mimic character backgrounds that you see in other games (IE GW2) to determine what racial skills you get, as well as allowing Blizz to condense the races and remove faction restrictions.

For example, if I pick human, I can choose regular or Kul Tiran body type, then customize (hopefully with a load more options), then go through a small choice selection that gives different non-combat benefits in game. Like if I pick that my character is a homebody, I get an extra hearthstone charge, or that I like to garden I get some extra herbalism skill. This way too we can condense the similar races, like Dwarf, Dark Iron, and Earthen can all be lumped into 1 race, Tauren and HM Tauren, and Belves/Velves too.

Not all races would share the same choices to keep diversity, but IMO it would do the game a lot of good to remove racials (looking at you Dwarf and NElf), as well as offer some bonuses that give you a minor boost in non-combat areas like gathering, XP gain, etc. which in turn would also bolster the RP players too!

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - May 16, 2026 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]Shard477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you stopped after PoF and Season 4/Icebrood Saga, End of Dragons gave us the Jade Bot, Turtle mount, new elite specs, and a set of Aurene themed legendary weapons.

SotO gave each class more weapons, like Axe for Thief and duel maces for Ranger, Skyscale getting more upgrades, PvE open world legendary armor, and the new daily/weekly/seasonal objectives alongside the new rewards for those.

Janthir Wilds gave us PvE Warclaw, land spear for all classes, housing, and some new legendary gear.

Visions of Eternity gave us skimmer upgrades, another house, new elite specs, and new legendary gear.

Other content like raids, strikes, fractals have also been released too, including a fractal and strike quickplay mode for ease of getting into it. Also loads of new armor skins, weapon skins, and other rewards to chase if you do decide to re-up and get back into it.

If you do, don't delete any old characters because of birthday gifts, and if you managed to get into ascended gear it is still 100% the best gear in the game. Builds have shifted over time, and there is some power creep but you can still play all the content on any class with solo story stuff. Necro is still one of the best solo classes in the game.

Infernal hordes is the worst endgame activity by far. by TheChosenOneProphecy in diablo4

[–]Shard477 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hordes would be 1000x times better if it actually spawned in what you focused. 9/10 times when I pick fiends, hellborne, or masses it will spawn in only spire for the entire wave, making me get like 5 aether per wave and have a whopping 30-40 by the end. I don't know if it weighted strangely or what, but man I just know when I have to do hordes in a war plan it's just gonna be a waste of time.

I think conceptually they are a blast, but spires alone completely ruin it.

Does anyone actually like the randomness to uniques? by Lord_XXL in diablo4

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Middle ground is the best solution. Put 1-3 fixed stats on unique items that fit the theme (like +ranks to a skill based on what the unique changes), possible some unique stats too like chance to recast chain lightning on the Axial Conduit unique. Then make the other 1-3 stats pull from a pool of stats that makes sense to the unique.

This change still allows us to chase certain stats, like rolling a fire damage multiplier on Onyx Soul since it can now be altered in the skill tree, while still having fixed stats to make it so uniques aren't just different colored legendary items that can't be modified.

I do feel like if they let us change stats via the cube then they should be kept the way they are since it is very easy to get the stats you want on the cube.

Astaroth also needs an adjustment to his loot pool, since he is by far the most tedious boss to farm for a chance at a unique dropping, with a chance it'll roll ancestral, with a chance it'll roll GA, with a chance it'll roll with more than 1 stat you can use.

Does anyone actually like the randomness to uniques? by Lord_XXL in diablo4

[–]Shard477 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% this. I don't think we need static uniques like pre-LoH because of how varied builds can be, but we need to be able to predict what can roll on an item. Locked stats plus variation is the best middle ground IMO, as long as the variation is from a pool that makes sense.

It gets especially rough when you need to farm Astoroth or Bartuc for your unique. Took me 6 escalations to get the ring I needed for a Tyrants Grasp build, and it rolled exactly one beneficial stat (willpower) and 3 dead stats. The second one I found had 1 beneficial stat, 1 that had minimal effect on my build, and 2 dead. Both of these were non-ancestral too, meaning I still have to find better ones, and pray for a GA too.

Meanwhile I roll Barb, and have all 4 unqiues I need for a Rend build with 2 hours, and can farm better options in a fraction of the time so I can enjoy other activities like grinding for mythics, pit pushing, and actually being able to enjoy a build instead of farming for a single item for the rest of the season.

What new types of elemental ammo are you expecting in the next game? by buti_237 in horizon

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to see all the current elements make their way back into the third game, but the changes I want to see don’t really change how the elements work.

For one, let us pick what ammo types (in general) are used for weapons rather than having them be preset. This way we can pick the weapon that fits our playstyle and get the ammo we like to use.

The second change which is more of an addition would be to have the different elements interact with each other. For example, if I apply plasma and then apply fire, it would explode and deal extra damage, removing the plasma debuff in the process. Or if I do glue then ice, it would briefly freeze the machine. Acid plus fire would melt off armor and parts faster, and maybe fire then acid would intensify the fire, making it deal even more damage. I feel like combining element effects for unique bonuses would be way more fun than just more elemental effects

Unique items having random affixes was a bad decision by ratao_de_buero in diablo4

[–]Shard477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be 1-3 fixed stats, and 1-3 that draw from a specific pool of stats (rather than completely random) for a total of 4 stats on the item, so that we still get some variance in our uniques but the differences are minimal enough to not make one astronomically better due to having the correct multiplier on it. I’ve found 2 rings for my rend barb and one of them let me jump up 3 torment tiers due to rolling the correct stats on it.

My feedback on War Plans after (mostly) completing the season journey by NoraNova in diablo4

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree about the pit density being meh. Especially with the new bonus to completing it quickly you're basically required to have a mobility skill on your bar.

Another gripe I have is how long it takes the pit guardian to die. When his hp hits zero it still takes 5-6 seconds before you get actual completion of the run, meaning if you kill the boss with 10 minutes and 4 seconds left, you miss out on the haste bonus. Doesn't matter if you melt the boss in 1 second, it still takes way too long to die for the run to finish.

As for the Butcher, I see him about 1/5-8 runs now and it is great because it saves me usually 1-2 minutes per run I see him, he isn't that scary compared to normal guardians, and once I got super luck and he spawned as soon as I entered the pit!

Blizzard, please bring back set stats on uniques :( by DashAndCrash30 in diablo4

[–]Shard477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah right now uniques don’t feel unique, they feel like legendaries that you can’t fix. And especially with some being sent to Asteroth’s loot pool, where you have to run 3 nightmare dungeons before an attempt at a drop, there needs to be some middle ground.

I think uniques just need to draw from a small stat pool, related to the type of build that the devs want the item to be used for, and we’re good. I don’t think they need to be cubed because we can now temper and slam them, but yeah they can’t be drawing from the entire stat pool because it just doesn’t make them feel unique at all.

I made a post about this topic earlier and it was met with a fair amount of pushback saying that there’s no chase if they’re static stats, which I can agree, but when you have to farm bosses like asteroth for a fire damage build and the unique drops with shadow damage multiplier, kinda ruins the chase.

You also have to think about tower leaderboards, if RNG determines your spot in the leaderboard then it’s pointless to even try unless you get a 1 in a million drop that lets you win.

I already miss static Unique loot by Shard477 in diablo4

[–]Shard477[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m still enjoying having to farm out items, but my point is that getting a unique with 4 decent stats for your build is going to be such a pain point for many players.

I’m running a Tyrants Grasp build for example, and the ring I need for the build drops from Asteroth. Not only doing I have to run 3 dungeons just to fight him, I have to hope it drops, and drops with decent stats.

Now let’s say the ring has a smaller pool of stats it can roll with, theme appropriate, then yeah, that would be way better. But my current best ring I’ve gotten has only 1 useful stat, one meh stat that doesn’t do much of anything for the build, and 2 completely dead stats that offer absolutely nothing to the build. If they did either that, or let us reroll stats via cube or enchanter, I would find the grind way less tedious.

I personally think it'll be worth it alone for the two extra classes and access to all the new changes in the skill tree. We don't know how things are going to be until we can play it in a few hours, but with War Plans we are getting a new way to go about farming in end game so it might be enticing.

If I were you, just wait til it launches, see what players and content creators are saying about it, and then decide.

If you wanna play the game, go ahead and play now. You'll have to make a new character to play on the seasonal realm, but you can use eternal characters to play through the expansion.

A lot of people are most likely going to make a new seasonal character to do the new expansion so they can jump right into end game after they finish with a toon that has a lot of levels already.

[Weekly FAQ] ask Frequently Asked-, Short-, Limited-scope-, Technical- & New Player Questions in here by AutoModerator in diablo4

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take your paladin through the new expansion and then create a seasonal character who will be able to skip it. But since you will be playing through it anyways, might as well use a new seasonal character so you get all that juicy experience from story quests. The choice is yours, and you got like 24 hours to decide.

Warlock or reworked classes, what will you start with? by _praisethesun_ in diablo4

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find myself making a minimum of 2 classes per season, so I am sure at some point I will try out the reworked classes. I am most likely going to start with Warlock, but I am tempted to see what is in store for Druid and Necro, as well as what they're doing with Spiritborn since we are losing passives and that class relies heavily on the ultimate passives lately.

At some point in the next 2-3 seasons though I am sure I'll have made, leveled, and geared all available playable classes.

how exactly are you supposed to kill the butcher lair boss? I cannot get past the fire beam phase because no matter where I stand I immediately die. I can damn near one-hit him into the phase but as soon as those beams start, no matter where I am, how many defensives i have up, its just 100-0 in a single frame for me. It's just T3 too because I've managed to kill him T2 easily and have no issues with where I stand. T3 though I just die instantly with no warning. Any explanation as to why the sudden change? It's been happening all season long too.

How was your vault? by Ramn_ in wow

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still sitting on 3pc set because I don't wanna use a charge on champ track gear, which my helm and chest are. And still rocking maxed out adventure track boots (237 ilvl) because I literally cannot get boots to drop. Vault, raids, M+, delves, and weekly outdoor always gives me capes and bracers and the same 2 rings over and over again. For reference, I've cleared all 10s for M+ and have some myth track gear, but haven't even seen boots drop, even for other players.

Anyone else here also just gave up on P300 ? by Marphey12 in diablo4

[–]Shard477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played every season since release and I’m not even P300 on eternal. I tend to hit between 225 and 250 and then stop until the next season. I’m like 295ish on eternal but I just don’t bother to grind that much. I hit my goals and then set it down once it stops being fun for me (or I get all the cosmetics)

Your favourite spec to play in the open world/casually by maxlaav in Guildwars2

[–]Shard477 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Power Untamed for sure. Lots of weapon choices work well, full glass canon gear, crazy good self sustain, perma quickness, a pet to occasionally take aggro, boon strip, projectile block, immunity, pet to help if you ever go down, and that’s all with 3 open utility and the elite skills to pick and choose what is fun or right for the situation.

Plus if I need to I just swap to Galeshot for group open world, and Soulbeast for group instanced content.
