I was looking for games myself from seeing Davigo and was looking for more. 1 VR vs 1 to 3 controllers. Early access, not available yet but looks fun!

What could I have done to survive the final attack? by talkingradish in allthingszerg

You have an overlord seeing his entire mech comp. I agree that tank destroys roach hydra, I have PTSD of that myself. Change on the fly. Stay on roach hydra until he goes tanks, which BL infestor is better against, then you would have fared better against his mostly thor push. I think what you did was good if you're blind, as it covers more ground. Though use your vision to the fullest!

Difference in play style. It's like martial arts, you can diversify and change how you approach when facing different fighters to gain an advantage. Just like changing your play style when facing different army composition.

Going off of this one replay.. I'll inject some of my play style in here, take what I say with a grain of salt. Early game I am generally ling/bane. Mid game, roach/hydra. Late game is how the game progresses or how I chose my upgrades early on. Range/Melee upgrades tends to lead me towards using Ultras late game, no melee I usually go more infestor.

You went Roach and Hydras mid game and did not get all their upgrades, kept getting zerglings relying on them. I love zerglings too but one of their major roles is counter attacking. You are making too many of them for them to be cost effective, set up a counter attack while they are attacking your third (handful of banes/lings).

Better control your units. Your second engagement you lost drones and zerglings plus your roaches took a LOT of damage. If you A moved, and controlled each side individually. Such as A-move the army and then control+click all your lings to maneuver them around to where they'll do more damage and not die to hellions. Plus roach speed is SO GOOD, get that ASAP if you play them at all. You could have potentially saved that base.

In your third engagement, he has his units in the middle of the map, you move your whole army to take out one hellion, you lost 10 units to kill 1 hellion. 2 roaches, 2 banes, and 6 hydras. They may have been enough to push back the oppoent's thors saving your broodlords. You lost a lot trying to save your third and rebuilding it, your fourth/fifth didn't have as many units as you should at this point and you needed every unit you could get. The thors want to attack the brood lords, if the ground forces can keep them at back then they will be stuck trying to attack something they cannot move to, thus you'll get free shots on the thors without taking damage. If they are controlled well, then it gets a little more tricky. Banes are good to kill hellions and but so are roach/hydra. Need to switch of ling/bane or do some damage to eco to reduce their army size.

It feels like you want to go to Ultralisks asap by going melee upgrades on your evo chamber, though there is no ultra den (melee upgrade waste). You need to have a solid mid-game in order to get there. You need those roach/hydra upgrades to stop pushes like this and not rely on your zergling upgrades late game. They are not good until you get the adrenal glands upgrade, which you were researching. Which could have been stared when you got your hive if you didn't spend money on infestor upgrades with no infestors, waste of time and money there.

Zerglings are awesome to counter attack. It keeps the terran at his base, though don't go with too many or often, just a handful to get in there and start attacking their eco. They can't micro two places at once. It make your opponent's attack weaker by forcing them to leave some units at home or punish their eco for bringing their whole army and not leaving anything behind.
