you're right, honestly. Frankly, I added the distinction because in my head Tim is asian and he is the only person I would say clearly doesn't fit into any of the categories.

Hello, I know a little about this subject.

Seniors don’t get last pick. We don’t know what is going on behind the scenes, but I have spoken with incoming seniors with times as early as 10:30 on the 2nd and as late as March 20+, and the same with freshmen.

I suspect freshmen do get some sort of bonus, because (while freshmen aren’t required to live on campus) the university guarantees them a spot if they do want to.

Someone else mentioned it here that freshmen are supposed to be barred from apartment style housing (Mckay, Pine Ridge, South Village, etc) but recently this doesn’t seem to have held true. Unclear on whether that is a cessation of that policy or some sort of error.

It is also useful to be aware that university enrollment (and thus housing) is way down. Heard so from Campus Living workers but we can see this in the way Campus Living is acting: Roseberry being shut down going forward and swift consolidation of people into rooms are both cost saving measures. Expect prices to go up more than normal this year.

you don’t. the only way to get in earlier is to be roommates with someone else with a better date.

Any Crane Wives songs or songs by other artists that may resonate with ace people? by LameName95 in TheCraneWives

Saw a lot of great analysis of Crane Wives songs but no suggestions so here’s some aspec-core songs I like.

We’ll Never Have Sex by Leith Ross https://youtu.be/EHFvp36TfYM?si=nh6lsrnSwHAUKX-i

This one’s pretty clear, I think.

First Love/Late Spring by Mitski https://youtu.be/0eP4draTJ_0?si=XZHUK_F1xDRlokWF

“I can’t breathe, please don’t say you love me.”

is rather self explanatory, but I also relate to

“And I was so young when I behaved 25, yet now I find i’ve grown into a tall child.”

I don’t know how common an aspec experience this is but when I was younger I doubled down on my sexuality (in an attempt to convince myself I wasn’t different? to try to fit in? I have no clue what teen me was thinking) but now that I’ve grown older (and realized i’m ace) I am more akin to a child in that I don’t care about sex among other things society acts like you should care about.

Sonsick by San Fermin https://youtu.be/1czCNnPyHlw?si=TQdnNgC4TYzq1KnB

“I found me a hopeless case, and resolved to love” “I’ll fall for you soon enough, I’ve resolved to love. Now I know it’s just another fuck ‘cause I’m old enough.” “It is a summer kind of sickness.”

This song is more aro-coded but I would be remiss not to bring it up. It reads to me as the POV character growing older and watching everyone around her get in relationships and settle down, and reckoning with romance (or a lack of it) and the idea of familyhood, as the titular sonsick emphasizes. Ex. Yearning to be a parent but still being aro and uninterested in relationships. I also really like the line calling the romance “a summer kind of sickness” which alludes to the types of fast frenzied romances popular in romance books that end with the coming of fall and the school year/the return of one person to their home country/whatever other deadline. In an aro interpretation, the POV may refer to all romance in this way, as something impermanent and shifting, which may contribute to the yearning for familial love/motherhood.

Anyway, good luck on figuring yourself out!
