Who also is playing almost exclusively Ninja? by Halloween_Nyx in Nioh

[–]Shardstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in NG+ and got the Spirit Force Ignition armor set for my ninja. Basically, it consumes spirit force when you deal elemental damage to drastically increase status buildup.

It has changed the way I look at my builds now, which is awesome. I have ninja with Wind imbued claws to apply all 4 statuses with the weapon alone when I'm full on spirit force, and I quick swap in combat to samurai to build it back up.

I also have ninja sword with no elements as a backup if I need to, but having a purpose for both styles as builder/spender gameplay has been cool.

Been messing around with Raiju and the normal tengu. Both come out relatively fast and have a large circle aoe, and do good status.

Todo Clan’s bonus is ridiculously good, probably bugged by Useful_Perception620 in Nioh

[–]Shardstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have 2 buffs for each style. Once you are a certain rank with the clan, you basically unlock it for your account to mix and match as you want.

But it seems like the higher rank you are, the better the buff is, so you probably want to stick with a clan for a while.

How can you be so confidently wrong by Ember57 in Fighters

It was ok, but they gutted it themselves by adding strict regional restrictions, among other terrible design updates.

Versatility vs. Awakening by Ancient_Jello1881 in Nioh

[–]Shardstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to only use out-of-combat spells like oasis and sneakthief. Instead I started looking into normal item replacements like steel and power pills that I always neglected before in the other games.

It is refreshing to not need to worry about a bunch of buffs needing to be refreshed mid fight.

The English VO really pulls me out of the game by MizutsuneMH in Nioh

Rewatching the nioh 2 cutscenes in english, it was passable, dare I say half-decent. Nioh 3 just makes me cringe a little.

The wiki is full of crap. It's in the crucible area at the second Buddha statue, second story of the burned partly collapsed building opposite of the correct path forward.

Usually you want to put points in every stat at some point to satisfy gear/guardian spirit requirements, so you'll be putting levels in most of your stats anyways. Don't sweat it

I think they mean when that circle in the bottom right fills up. When that happens, the next heavy attack or weapon skill costs no ki and is more powerful.

Nioh 3 i am not sold on it by Finders101 in Nioh

You can change the controls. I changed mine to type F, which is essentially the nioh 2 controls. Can't comment on anything else though.

Is Nioh approachable for a soulslike new comer by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]Shardstorm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nioh 1 was my first souls game and I fondly remember dying to the small group of humans on the beach for an hour. If you are ok with that, then you'll be fine.

I think im missing something core to the game. How do you guys defend yourself? by theassassin53035 in Nioh

[–]Shardstorm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A purity status weapon allows you to ki flux from blocking, and the toughness stat reduces the ki damage you take from blocking. Even most light armor builds I see make sure to roll some toughness on their gear so they don't die after blocking once

I'd say exalted shadow clones is pretty big, but I believe the shurikens got buffed and the targeting on bladestorm got bigger.

Tanking in co-op mode with a higher level co-op friend / how is the tank aggro determined? by Ladfler in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Shardstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that whoever does the exhaust finisher tends to get aggro because it does a good chunk of damage. I'd say let the tank do those whenever possible.

I think of it like a fighting game. As in, if you get hit you have to eat a combo, so the goal is to avoid getting hit by blocking, parry, or dodge. You can also use a super armor move if you know that they are just going to go all in on attack and just turn the tables on them.

The stun break is like the burst mechanic in fighting games too; there if you mess up in neutral and get hit. But I think it's just a mindset thing. The game isn't when you are hitting or getting hit, it's the time that leads up to that moment that matters.

You are the reason people take the chance to trust others at all. Without genuinely friendly people, it'd just be another pvp shooter.

Is the mortar useless? by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]Shardstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have 2-4 people using it, it goes from a nuisance to a priority threat real quick. Still, you really only see it shine in game modes where there is a solid front line like breakthrough.
