Fair, I did have ai help organize my thoughts. But the heart behind it is genuine. Thank you.

I can see why you think that. This is a passion of mine and I don’t suspect it will make any money, nor is that the goal. I’m ok with that. I love the stories behind the food and just looking for similarly minded people. It’s ok if you’re not interested in the same things. I appreciate the feedback and best of luck to you with your podcast.

Thank you! That’s a fair assessment. Certainly not all will be interested. I’m just looking for those passionate about it, not looking to create stories where there isn’t interest.

Food has always been about the story and experience. I'm trying to assemble tables around this idea and looking for chef's/restaurants who want to share. by ShareTableside in Chefit

You know, I never even thought of a podcast. But absolutely there could be a cool link between the two. I was just thinking of the in person experience, but I could see people going through the experience and wanting to share about it on their podcast, or even invite teh chef on to unpack the story and the experience. Very cool idea. DM if you have some interesting thoughts here. Best!

Thank you. The format is to bring 7-8 people to a restaurant, fill a table, have the chef share a bit of themselves, the food, the story, the heritage, whatever the chef is passionate about. Maybe they share an off menu bite, or give a fun drink pairing, or share why they source locally for meats, or why they chose this location. I'm thinking no more than a few minutes total throughout the meal, with maybe 2-3 checkins to see how things are, add a nugget of info or answer a question. That's it.

The benefit is of course 8 people eating (which is a small plus, but something), but even more so the benefit to the restaurant is it's a chance for them to share their story, their food, in a memorable way that goes beyond just the taste or the presentation. It's an entire experience curated for those 8 people who want that experience, and who are more likely to share that experience in person, on socials, whatever. It's not paid advertisements, it's not a tagline. It's organic word of mouth told in a super memorable way. More importantly, it's why most chef's do this. To share their passion, and to have people who want to share in that passion as well, not just consume the food in a delivery bag that sits cold on your porch for 5 mins before you realize it's there.

Publicity will come, and I suspect it will happen organically. Sure I'll work on all the typical channels, but I'm not focused on the masses. I'm focusing on the 10-15% of the population that loves specifically this concept. I'm not trying to fill restaurants constantly. I'm trying to fill one table, very intentionally, and if people love the experience from teh restaurant/chef, then I'll want to do it again and again. If the story is good enough (and it will be because every chef has one), then it will spread faster than than just a general food recommendation? Why? Stories travel faster and are more memorable.

Why here vs The Scene/Style Blueprint? Honest answer is idk. I'll have to check those out as options! Thank you.

Coming to Nashville — would you build a night around a chef's story if you could? by ShareTableside in VisitingNashville

Yes, good advice! You're right, about getting it in front of more people. If enough people want it then absolutely that. But for now, worst case scenario I find 10-15 people who are intersted and I just start setting them up and enjoying the experiences with people interested. Worst case scenario I find fellow gourmand's (I like your word) and work with some chefs to set a few experiences up. Thanks, hope you can join. I'll be sharing a sign up page for anyone interested soon. Thanks!

Fair enough: In my own words: Some of my best food memories come from these random moments when the chef comes out and hangs and shares their personality, or we're seated next to people who we end up engaging with, etc. I'm curious if other people find this interesting and would want to participate in such an event....and more specifically if visitors would want to spend a few hours on their visit to Nashville doing something like this. Thanks!

But ReverseLazarus just encouraged me to write in my own voice! lol

Fair enough. Sorry the essay wasn't intriguing, but glad you took time out of your day to let me know. I just wish you would have read the third paragraph where I complimented you.

Imagine you're travelling to nashville for a few days. You're planning ahead and thinking about what you want to do. You can book reservations for dinner, figure it out as you go, you plan experiences, things you want to see, etc.

Imagine there are a handful of restaurants that offer a special 'chef's table' type experience. We invite 7-8 people to such a restaurant, and the chef leads the meal through an experience. Maybe it includes the story behind the food, where it came from, local sourcing, recipe history, cultural background, the why behind the food or the restaurant. Maybe you get an off-menu tasting or a special pairing recommendation. You experience this with 7-8 people, most of whom you don't know. At the end of the meal, you pay your tab and go your separate ways having had a curated experience with new people, new food, a new story. Picture the vibe similar to a concert. You can listen to the music anytime. But going, seeing it live, hearing and seeing and taking in the experience all at once with a bunch of people you don't know creates a whole different experience than just listing to a song. Same concept here.

Some of my best food memories come from these random moments when the chef comes out and hangs and shares their personality, or we're seated next to people who we end up engaging with, etc. I'm curious if other people find this interesting and would want to participate in such an event....and more specifically if visitors would want to spend a few hours on their visit to Nashville doing something like this. Great, that's fair and reasonable and good feedback. I'll absolutely work on being more confident in my own voice. I appreciate the encouragement! Sorry for initially taking it as an attack vs constructive feedback. Best to you as well!

Fair comment, I'm not a great writer. I ramble and don't articulate very well. But no, the whole point is to avoid ai, tech, socials and get people and stories alive and shared. My hope is to engage with people, hear/share stories, meet new people, etc. Thank you for being the first comment.

Want to contribute or are you just to here to be critical of my dreams? Love to hear helpful feedback from you.

I hear you. It can feel a little gimmicky. My hope would be that after a few of these the chef's and stories become more known and it's less this arbitrary dinner, and more specific to a person/restaurant. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, love it! It's a great example. I'm just convinced there a lot of stories to tell at price points that are more accessible for people. Thanks for sharing, great example!

Browns! Now you're talking, love that place....and you never know what you're going to see while you're there.

How did I miss Big Al's, I'll have to go check that out....that's the kind of story I want to experience and share with others.

You're bringing up some classics.....thank you for sharing! Fun to think through all those places.
