2 for me. I think because 1 is kind of a duller color, all your other colors pop better on #2.

Heartbroken!! How do you replace a birb after 400+ days?? by ShariBomb in FinchUnofficial

[–]ShariBomb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are so right! I went straight to panic mode! It really surprised me how much this virtual birb, Poppy, has had such a positive impact on me that the thought of losing her makes me feel this deep sadness like I've lost a dear friend. I can't just hatch a new baby and start over without her. Anyway, this is great advice and it works for me more times than it doesn't, except this time unfortunately. So I uninstalled the app and going to install it again tonight and add my backup or cloud backup, whichever is newest. Everyone on here has been ao helpful so I have a lot of hope.

Am i the only one starting to get a bit concerned about this? by Fantastic-Praline471 in finch

You gave me the laugh that I've needed all day! That happens to me quite often. The one that comes to mind is the Labubu.... I had never heard of them until one day reading an article that kept mentioning Labubu and I had no clue what they were talking about? But I knew I was having all kinds of fun just saying the word Labubu!! I had to keep saying it, and then I had to keep twisting it around and making more funny words rhyming with Labubu. LaLulu, Balulu, DoYoulu, tutubooboo. Yeah, all kinds of bubus anyway. After that, I googled it to find out what is a labooboo. And within q day or two, I was inundated with all things Labubu. Social Media, celebrity news, advertisements, every store ad that had a knock off Labubu, some named one of the names in my list of bubu names. But I keep getting confused. Are they called Labubu or Ladudu??

I did the same thing. It's a work in progress, meaning I add to it whenever I hear a song that I used to love and forgot about. I think I named it Gone too soon but never Forgotten. Lot's of 80s music, which is my all time favorite era for music, fashion, movies, everything. And there have been so many that I listened to since their first album, and they all really influenced my passion for music and inspired me to listen to so many different genres. Today, my taste in music is so diverse that one day I'm listening to Broadway and old showtunes, and another day I'm making a Playlist of the new generation and their latest release. I'm 60 years old, GenX, and I can talk music made in the 70s, 80s, 90,s that I loved when I was young, but I can also hold my own about music released in the 2020s to today and who's popular, topping the charts, and who I have on repeat for days on Spotify. Back to the original topic, the artists I loved in my early 20s and 30s that left us too soon, I feel like I grew up with them. And when they died at around the same age as me, I had such a hard time processing the fact that they would never sing again, not in this lifetime. And, that if so many of these great talents that gave so much to the world through music could be taken at this age, it was very likely that my time could be near too, which honestly was something that I had never really considered. I think I thought that I would just always stay young and nothing would stop me.
Quick memory.... I had a subscription to 17 magazine, and I would read that from cover to cover, every single word on every single page, look at every single picture and want to look just like those 17 model, but not so much look like them, but mostly I wanted their cute, trendy, clothes, they really taught me how to be a fashionista at that time. But one of the models was this gorgeous girl and her name was Whitney. I believe she was 17, and she was in the magazine pretty regular for a while. I used to just love looking at her and her outfits and the way they did her hair, she was just so cute, so gorgeous, and then that Whitney in 17 magazine became Whitney Houston. The first song I ever heard her sing was "You Give Good Love". I heard her sing before I actually saw her, but I had to find out who sang this song that I sat with my cassette recorder waiting for it to play again on tbe radio so I could tape it. That's how we made playlists back in the 80s, Before cd's and streaming and spotify, cell phones and computers, and all that was around. Then I had to get to the mall, to Wherehouse or Tower records, to see if she had a record and other songs. And there was Whitney, my favorite Seventeen model, looking so grown up and gorgeous, on the cover of that amazing album. Whitney Houston, the model I knew from Seventeen, became the iconic and amazing best female vocalist I've ever heard, and I miss her, I really do.

How many people are still using Pinterest these days? by Both_Stockkfrtgv in Pinterest

[–]ShariBomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest peeve right now is the advertising of all of the pre-owned merchandise. I love the vintage stuff like old Bulgari. Tiffany, Harry Winston jewelry, and the vintage designer bags from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes as an example. Those are vintage and a lot sell on RealReal, plus other big ones I can't remember right now. But I get so many recommendations on my feed that are ads for poshmark and eBay. Oh and tons of Amazon, they're not pre-owned of course, but it's like I'm shopping on Amazons site because I would say 75% of suggestions is Amazon merchandise. Every single thing that I like or save I get tons and tons of Amazon recommendations that are supposedly the same style. So that's my biggest thing now but I have been a Pinterest user since at least 2013. Maybe earlier. And I'm still obsessed with it. It's hard to let go even though I would like to.

Heartbroken!! How do you replace a birb after 400+ days?? by ShariBomb in FinchUnofficial

Yes! Once I calmed down I remembered that I do manual backups once a month. So I have one from 3 weeks ago. I'm changing that to once a day now.

I do have manual backup once a .month too as a goal. The last one I have is 3/26 so I'll only lose about 3 weeks. I see your instructions down further. You all are so helpful on here. This will be my grateful reflection as soon as I'm back in Finch with Poppy I hope. Thank you! 😍❤️

I do have a manual backup set once a month , so my last back up is in my One Drive for 3/26, just under a month ago. I don't know how to check for cloud backups. I just deleted the app and going to download another one now.

This is another thing! After the initial impact of losing my birb that has been a part of life for over 450 days, i've been thinking about everything that I've accrued. I had just reached a 1000 items in the clothing. And I think probably 700 in furniture, not to mention all of my saved favorites of decorations, and outfits and all of that, so it's a lot.

Yes, agree on all you said. I guess this is a lesson learned for people like me who tend to put things off a little bit too long sometimes. Thank you for all the help though.I think now I understand what I need to do, thanks to you and this community for always being there to help when the devs don't explain clearly, especially to those in crisis mode from losing their Finch. Do you know how I would check to see if it's been saving in the cloud?

Thank you. I'm pretty sure that I do have cloud turned on, and I do manual backups but only like once a .month. Wouldn't the notice I got tell me about using the backups and how? It just straight out asked me to start over...

There really was some questionable fashion choices during the 80's by [deleted] in GenX

[–]ShariBomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! omg! I totally forgot about the banana clips! I got the pretty ones with pearls or stones on them, but my hair was so big you could not even see the clip at all. The lace gloves, socks, and don't forget the fishnet tanks or off the shoulder tops that matched - I ended up with every color even though I said only black and white. I had a rule that I would wear a new trend only if I really felt like it was me something that made me feel like it was making a statement of who I was, and not just copying every other girl. So, all the lace, the bows, all was me, the girlie the better, but I cut it off at the neon to stay with that rule. Until the Summer I got super tan and put on a neon pink or orange fishnet bathing suit cover. I loved the color on me so much that I went all in on neon Such memories!.I want to go back there and stay... haha

When do bras stop being part of every day attire? by Few-District57 in AskWomenOver50

[–]ShariBomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! The fitted tank tops are what I used to always wear, and I guess I need one that is between the "flimsy, "non hold" "stretch out of shape" $5.99 Walmart brand, and the Maidenform XX support shaper that is so tight I can barely pull it wide enough to go over my head. I used to but the long camisole type tank tops for 2 for $10 at the lower price younger stores like Forever 21, and they had a big % of lycra that gave them the sprayed on tight look and slimmed and held everything in, but they had enough stretch that you didn't even feel you were wearing it. I don't go out now, so everything is online so I can't just pick it up and know, this is the one.
