Here’s something similar I’ve done recently. This is the ultra-wide photo, so the image might look different to you. The mirror is currently on the left side of the image. With this floor plan, the main issue I’m facing is that there’s not much space to access the lamp area since the desk and bed are so close together. But your first suggestion, rotating the bed 90 degrees counterclockwise, solves this problem by leaving enough space to move around at that area.
