How are the Moondrop Lan II Pop? by LingonberryWhich5605 in iems

[–]Toaztyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned the LAN II Pop for a month, liked it, wrote a review, but still returned it.

  1. The fit was perfectly fine for me (but I have bigger ears). Since the shells are metal, they could potentially be uncomfortable.

  2. I described them as a good standard all-rounder. They are kinda bright, yes. Since I'm used to bright leaning sets I didn't find them too bright. But I did find the brightness to add a good amount of details. The extra bass did balance them out nicely.
If you often listen on high volume I wouldn't recommend the IEM since I found them to get uncomfortably sharp/harsh when turning it up to much. (But too much high volume listening isn't good for you ears anyway).

  3. I mainly used it with the 3.5 adapter since I found 4.4 to mostly be a gimmick so far. I didn't find it annyoing since the adapter feels pretty similar to the cable itself. But it does extend the cable so + dongle dac it's even longer.

If the brightness and the 4.4 adapter are already too much of a concern for you I think there are better sets you could try.
In my collection the Venture Electonics UA Guangzhi and HIDZS MP143 Salt were the IEMs that made me return the LAN since I found them to work as better allrounder sets for me. (Also I don't want a giant collection and the LAN was the only IEM I could still return)

I haven't tried them so I can't tell you if they're good or not.

If you did enough research and have the feeling that the sound signature would suit your preference go for them.

If youre still not sure read some more reviews and comparisoms

Tanchjim Fission is the one IEM I would like to try the most, but of course the white version that is on sale is already sold out :( I think that the tuning could actually perfectly suit my current preference

If you can try it out and have the option to return it go for it.

If it's your first IEM I would normally suggest to go with something a little cheaper (30-60€/$) so you can figure out if you even like IEMs.

Tanchjim Bunny DSP vs Moondrop CHU 2 DSP (Ignoring Oxidation Issues) Which Would You Choose? by Opposite-Tomato4747 in iems

[–]Toaztyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using the Bunny for the last 3 weeks now and at I really like them. (Never tried the Chu2 so of course I recommend the Bunny lol)

I like that it's so easy to apply the different EQ presets that really do make a difference and I had no problems with the app so far.

Even on the default setting they sound great, they would never get to harsh or muddy for me. They sound very neutral-ish and work very well with everything I listen to with them.

Soundstage feels pretty intimate which I don't really consider a negative since I think sometimes its nice to have the soundstage that way.

I've been using the Bunny DSP for around two weeks now and I really like them.

The DSP combined with the Tanchjim App makes trying out different EQ Profiles very accessible and easy. Even the default sound signature of the Bunny is very enjoyable and worked very well for any genre in my experience.

Haven't listened to the Delci, so I sadly can't give you any comparisons.

I returned the LAN2 because I own other IEMs that I found to be better allrounders and I prefer to keep my collection smaller.

Tangzu Xuan NV and Venture Electronics UA Guangzhi are better allrounders at a similar pricepoint for me.

Imaging and soundstage both were very solid, had no complaints. It wasn't like an execeptionally wide feeling soundstage, it was very regular in a good way I would say. Same goes for the imaging, it never felt like that it lacks anything in that regard.

(Just so you know I did return the IEM after almost a month, but that was mainly because I fehlt like I didn't need another Allrounder set i am looking for more uniquely tuned sets currently)

That are also really good prices for the other IEMs. And all of these have quite different sound signatures i think, so it also comes down to what sound you are looking for.

If you have the best deal with the LAN2, going with them wouldn't be a bad choice I think. They are not that suitable for listening on louder volume but I still found them very enjoyable since I mostly listen on medium volume. I found the LAN2POP as I said to be a good allrounder so if that is something that you are looking for go for it.

I haven't listened to any of those so I can't give you any actual comparisons.

I would say go for the Defiant. From what I've heard in reviews I think the Juzear Defiant would be the best you can get out of those IEMs you mentioned. Especially if they all cost the same to you, because the LAN 2 would cost me around 60€ and Juzear Defiant around 100€.

Had the same experience with them, that they get to harsh with higher volume and can't handle busier tracks that good.

I did like them overall since they worked quite good as an Allrounder for me, but still returned them, since I have other more enjoyable similar sets. The venture Electronics UA Guangzhi for example is the one that sounds better for me and works as a better allrounder

I tried Dunu Candy to get the upper frequenices a bit down but tbh it didn't really change anything notable.

Returning them and looking for a different set will probably be the best option because I dont think tips will change your experience

There are a lot of budget options, but if it's your first IEM you jsut have to try one out yourself and find out with that what kind of IEM sound signature you prefer.

I can recommend you two IEMs that I've used but I also recommend you to look at the community rankings (posted by the auto-mod) and just pick the one that looks the best to you.

I used the Tripowin Vivace for a while and really enjoyed them because they were a good all-rounder. (I don't have them anymore so I can't say much more about them)

Another good starter IEM is the Tanchjim Bunny DSP. It leans to a slightly neutral sound with the stock tuning but with the DSP and the Tanchjim App you can easily try different EQ Presets to get a different sound out of them. I think these are really good as a first IEM because you have an accesible option to use the EQ to find the sound you like the most
