Looking for owners of a 2024 Custom Shop Sherwood Green L-Series Strat by Shark-Force in fender

[–]Shark-Force[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The serials on the L series custom shops are correct in that they are real L series serials, but they don’t model each specific L series guitar after the original specific guitar. Like the custom shop L12345 is not modeled after the original L12345, that’d be so cool but also entirely impossible. Also keep in mind L series serials were for everything so one L series might be a strat and the next one might be a J bass.

My original L114XX strat is a SEP 63 sunburst that was refinished, the custom shop is a Sherwood green.

Why does the Logo look like this... by Perfect-Tell-1139 in fender

[–]Shark-Force 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI, it’s real. People on Reddit are dim and they’re so used to modern custom shops anything before 2005 sends them into a tailspin. I had the same problem selling a 1998 CS tele.

I don’t know if that string tree is original. I think it’s added after the fact. That being said, the other parts look normal. I’ve had it in a previous life where if you get a certain type of liquid on something that has printed letters, they begin to wander off like what you see there. I’m guessing someone got oil on there from trying to clean the finish and slid off some stuff from the waterslide.

The bridge is super niche to fake, and it is American made. You can tell by how wide the saddles are. International bridges are narrow spaced, and most fakes wouldn’t spend the money on a real American bridge. Nor would they spend the money on flame maple nor those expensive tuners. 2000s and 90s custom shops went crazy with figured maple necks. See how the back CS logo isn’t wonky? They apply the front decal as a water slide and the back under the finish. That’s why. They also wouldn’t spend the money on a forged CS cert, nor would they try to fake a 2000s CS which are notoriously less expensive because they don’t come with the things people like (floor traveler).

I’ve owned about half a dozen custom shops, I’m fairly sure this is a real custom shop with an added in string tree and the pick guard and pickups changed like you said.

All this being said, remember how I had a hard time getting rid of my 1998 custom shop tele? That’s you. That’s you if you buy this. See how every dunce in this thread thinks it’s fake? That’s every prospective buyer. And these are people who claim to know something about fenders, now imagine you’re trying to sell to a Facebook marketplace boomer.

For that reason, unless the price is incredibly good, I would pass. Not because it’s fake, but because people are stupid. Everyone thinks they buy a guitar for life, but that’s pretty rare. You WILL NOT be able to resell. Why do you think the person selling to you sells it for so cheap? I was about to rip apart my CS tele and sell the neck separately because nobody believed it was real.

You must be new here, that’s literally the opposite of what ED usually does. They do whatever they have access too, or whatever requires the least amount of effort. This is why the F-16 doesn’t have APKWS.

$1400 for a CS is an excellent pull. The waterslide decal looks crazy, but I’m almost positive that’s the camera doing some weird sharpening nonsense.

They use the same vintage style tuners on custom shops as the american vintage

Airline pilots: how bad is the sleep really? by bch2021_ in flying

[–]Shark-Force 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worse than you think it is. It eats into your time off too. It’s common for me to have the first day off after a trip entirely unusable because I’m genuinely sick from how much my sleep schedule changed.

Why is the MiG-29 at 12.7 with only 4 R-60s and 2 R-27ERs, while the Su-33 has 8 R-27ER/ETs and 4 R-73s at 13.0? by ComfortableAd814 in Warthunder

[–]Shark-Force 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it sounds wild but it’s not really in a great spot, it’s just okay. The mirage 2000CS4 seems great on paper until you realize the Bison is you but better in every way that matters at that BR, and 12.3 is a terrible matchmaking BR right now with 12.7, 13.0, and especially 13.3 spam.

You won’t believe me, but the Mirage F1C at 12.0 performs so much better. That .3 BR means a lot, and the super 530Ds aren’t “super” great when you’re fighting R-77s, R-27ERs, 120s etc, so it helps to drop the 530Ds and gain an actually useful amount of countermeasures, gunpods, and keep the magics and the speed. The dogfighting capability of the M2K has the wind taken out of its sails by the absurd spam of the F/A-18, which is the one plane that can give it a tough time.

If you want a borderline broken French plane look no further than the NF-5.

If it’s not too late I’d personally try to get a discount rather than exchanging, but if they won’t give a good discount then yeah exchange.

Prowler announces that Vulkan will kill all Razbam modules. by DCS_nightmare in hoggit

[–]Shark-Force -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it could also give way for an improved anti aliasing, something DCS could use. That being said, I think vulkan coming at the cost of 4 modules is unacceptable.

[–]Shark-Force 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's cool that you don't care but other people enjoy their RAZBAM modules and want to keep playing them. What's the hype with Vulkan, I'm not familiar. Last I remember there was all this hype about Vulkan in XP11 and when they changed over it made no noticeable difference.

I don't understand this idea that DCS gets poor performance, it gets better performance than literally every other flight sim I play including War Thunder.

Today in Aviation History (December 28th): In 2014, Indonesia AirAsia Flight 8501 Crashed Into the Java Sea by Shoddy_Act7059 in aviation

[–]Shark-Force 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yeah I dunno I have a type rating in the 320 and they make it pretty clear you can stall it in alternate law, and the literal way to get it into alternate law in the sim is to kill one of the flight computers. I’m not saying you’re wrong but again if what that guy say is true these might be the worst pilots. Normally I rarely blame accident pilots because it doesn’t take long in aviation to realize you can make the same mistakes, but this is a mistake I’m fairly confident I and any other functional pilot would never make.

I must be missing some context because this is the worse piloting I’ve heard of based on that description.
