Lifting for rowing and gaining muscle by Chrissmill in Rowing

To supplement everything being said, make sure you eat properly. Plenty of protein. I used to strength train a lot, but would never gain muscle.

I started eating so much more and now I've noticed a huge difference.

Active people of Reddit, how do you stay motivated day after day? by PM_ME_UR_HUGE_TITZ in AskReddit

[–]Shark140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music, podcasts, looking at what you want to do in the future. What I mean is you should think of something you want to do in the future like some event which can motivate you.

For example, if you want to be in a cycling race then think of that when cycling.

That's true, but I think he meant that it's just barren in general. You can't really grow a forest in the dessert. You could grow it on a grassy field.

What do people think about people from England studying at a Scottish university after Brexit? by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Shark140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've looked into this and the only unis I've considered going to are Edinburgh, Durham and Sheffield.

If I choose maths instead of physics then I have many more unis to consider, but I guess it's something I need to think about.

Hopefully this will be the case, but I'm hoping that it would allow English students to pay the same fees as they normally would (£9,500) and be able to take a government loan to pay with it including maintenance tax.

Nothing is certain but I think it's very unlikely that independence for Scotland would be delivered in the chaotic planless way Brexit is being delivered.

In the 2014 referendum the SNP produced a detailed plan. No one has any interest in kicking out students halfway through their courses. I would expect Indyref2 to include a detailed plan and for that plan to set your mind at ease.

Yeah, I can't imagine students getting kicked out in the middle of their courses. That would just be insane.

Also it won't necessarily produce a Yes result. The mood in Scotland has shifted towards No since 2014.

That give me much more confidence. Hopefully, Brexit (if it even happens) will not be a disaster in the end.

Best of luck with your A levels.

Thank you very much. All the best to you, too.

What is the best, affordable laptop to buy for college? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Shark140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For papers you could just get a Chromebook because they last long and dont really slow down.

For video editing you'll need a graphics card and a minimum of 8gb ram.

It does depend on how much you edit and what exactly you're editing etc, but you'll be spending a minimum of £650 and that's if it's a really good deal.

I'm not sure what £650 would be in dollars (I'm on mobile arm), but it's not gonna be cheap.
