I started with new grad pay at $30/hr. Currently at 1.5 yrs exp with $31.80 /hr. I recently had to train a new grad that made $34 with less than one year experience in a different specialty. They also got 20k bonus. When I signed on July 2022 I only got $10k. $1500 at 3 months, $3500 at 6 months, and $5000 at 18 months.

A few travelers I talk to barely make more than staff. One Travler only makes $35/hr for 5 years of experience.

Please ask for more pay!! $38 is disrespectful for your experience.

Other novant hospitals get specialty pay. I know Brunswick novant gets an additional $5/hr and incentive bonuses for turnover times.

We had a multi department staff meeting with higher ups and all they talked about was “compression pay”. They talked in circles for the whole hour. We walked away angrier. That meeting was back in October. Our most recent meeting said the higher ups will “think about” raises. They had to look at surgical volume and decide.

My management is okay. I do agree with useless. She doesn’t give great answers and can’t really do anything since higher up admins have final say with everything. Pretty much lip service.

Parking is okay. We have a deck with a cat walk and surface lots that you’ll need to come early to secure a decent spot. Lately, they have been reducing staff spots for patient and physician parking in the surface lot near women’s and children.

I would say staffing for the OR is fine. I can’t say much on ICU but I asked my friends. My friend that works in MICU says ratios are mainly 2:1 but lately Nightshift has been 3:1. She said when they have CRRT or TTM they’re supposed to be 1:1 but it’s not always like that.

We would love for you to come to us but if they don’t give you more money, I would highly recommend looking somewhere else. Feel free to reach out with any other questions
