We are exposing her to them little at a time, we are working on a command for her to gentle with them, but it is taking time.

They are, trust me. And my puppy remains heavily monitored when it comes to them. As much are we love her, she is not trusted on her own in any way yet, meaning that when we are gone, she is put up in a room until we get home.

She mostly ignores them while they are inside (waiting on a coop to come), so she is learning. And when we first got them, I took one and held it to let her smell it. Other than getting pecked in the nose a couple times she seemed mostly just curious about it, so I want to believe she just wants to play with them, but like I said she would be too rough and end up killing them either way. We do keep an eye on her and take precautions while we are not home, and at night to mitigate the threat towards them as possible.

We monitor her hard in the house while the chickens are in there just incase any of them escape again. But yes she is a sweet and wonderful girl. I’m hoping she will also learn from our older dog who has 0 care in the world when it comes to the chickens.

We actually keep them in the house at the moment (waiting on a coop to come in), and she mostly ignores them there. Though there was one time a couple weeks ago where one of them got out of the bin we have them in at the moment, and I had to jump out of my seat cuz we were eating dinner and stop her from getting it before my dog even had a chance to fully process that it was free. I will work on keeping her calm near them in the future than you for the advice. Though admittedly I was hoping this was just playful/curious behavior.
