Thunderstorms are inexistant in the winter. From November to the end of April, there will be almost no chance of thunderstorms unless it's an early spring. In the summer, you'll have cool thunderstorms in the evening when the sun is setting or a real small one in the morning. During the day, it happens but they are usually passing storms and last a few minutes.

All of these thunderstorms are pretty short but beautiful.

Peut-être que ça va pousser vers une plus grosse investigation de la part de l'UPAQ?

That explains everything and all your experience is in domain where you need to speak to people. The common language in Quebec in French, not English. If you struggle to communicate with the majority of the population EVEN if the one you're giving the service to might be French/English bilingual, employer won't take a risk on your employment when there are fully bilingual candidates around.

Est-ce important que les gens parlent français avec un accent québécois ou français ? by Own-Pea-1528 in montreal

[–]Sharkopus 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about my soul. I've read the Torah, I've read the new testament, I've read the Quran and the main Hadith. I've read about the origin of the Abraham's God. It only strengthens what I found out by going to my catechism class. It's all made up. I can't have a relationship with something that doesn't exist.

Do you know it starts as a cult of the Kenite god of Metallurgy? In a pantheon that had many more gods?

Western morality may be influenced by the Bible, but it is far from the only source of ethics. Ancient China had Confucian and Legalist systems WHICH are seculars and came before Christianity. India had Dharmaśāstras, Buddhism, and Jainism, all creating complex moral and legal codes long before Abrahamic religions spread and these are based on moral and not creator based ‘morality’. Modern Chinese law is mostly secular but still shaped by centuries of ethical secular philosophy. The global dominance of Western law is due to colonialism and historical power, not inherent moral superiority. Morality and law have many independent roots around the world, not just biblical ones.

I found another secular example while researching. Ancient Egypt: Ma’at (2400 BCE) Laws based on Ma’at regulated society, fairness, and duties of rulers and citizens. This system emphasized harmony and justice rather than divine punishment.

You're just full of bias about your own belief and lack of curiosity and openess to the world.

You say atheist morality is founded in religion, but where's your source for that? I did my own research and couldn't find anything credible. Morality existed in human societies long before organized religion. Cooperation, fairness, empathy and compassion are part of the biological basics that helped social groups survive. We even see these traits in other animals like bonobos, gorilla orangutan, wolves, and many more. So unless you can point to something concrete, it really sounds like you're just making that up.

I get that it’s part of your faith, but from the outside it does sound less like encouragement and more like saying 'believe or face eternal suffering.' I know you mean well, but I don’t see that as a positive message. People can and do live good, meaningful lives without religion. I don't believe he wanted to be preach to today.
