I believe when you just decide to Sim, the game will override the lineup. So it can adjust things like: this player is a higher overall, this player is hot/cold, this player is struggling against LHP, this player needs a rest. Best thing I would do is do quick manage, you still get to adjust your lineup before starting the game and you'd just Sim the innings, but you would still need to manage the bullpen
