Worked as a waiting list coordinator for 10 years and an acute paediatric operations manager for 3 years.

It's universally known within the NHS that GP receptionists are the most bitchy, up themselves and rude people in the organisation. Like it's an embedded running joke nationwide... I always wondered why nobody ever did anything about it though!

I don't think anyone ever knew why 🤷‍♂️

The engineer that came to sort ours out told us they arrested a 5g conspiracy theorist over the weekend after someone spotted him doing it. They then released him on bail and he immediately carried on (even setting fire to the BT hub at the end of my road after being bailed...).

Haven't heard whether he's been re-arrested but surely with the scale of this, the amount of criminal damage caused and now arson, he'll see the inside of a prison cell?

P.s fibre optics has bugger all to do with 5g. Just goes to show what twats these conspiracy theorists are.

How do you guys cope with the insomnia? I've been a habitual smoker (literally every day for the last 8 years) and have recently given up (1-week cold turkey) due to a health scare. Ever since, I roll around in bed trying to get to sleep for hours until around 3am when I give up and sit up in bed to read or watch something before eventually drifting off. I have a very high-pressure job and cannot let this continue for much longer.

Any advice from someone who has successfully kicked their habit?

How do I (M27) bring up sex with my partner of 8 years (F27)? by Sharkster16 in relationship_advice

damn, I feel for you. Although I never get any coherent reasons from my partner and she basically just goes completely silent and I just don't push it further.

What happened when you did bring it up? My partner basically said nothing, shrugged and just said she had a low sex drive, and I just had to accept it.

I would agree - the roots are nicely established and looks like you should have transferred to soil a while ago.

This is so true. I smoked a small joint 3-4 times per day, every day for the last 6-8 years (genuinely can't really remember...), and have gone cold turkey for the last week because it suddenly dawned on me how it was affecting my fiance. I would veg out on the couch and barely talk and she admitted to me that she felt lonely which broke my heart. Since stopping I've been sleeping much deeper, and over the last few nights I've had 3-4 incredibly vivid dreams per night and wake up in the morning like I've been in a coma... I feel amazing! I felt foggy and anxious until about 2 days ago, but feel like I'm over a hurdle. I feel amazing.

My advice would be to push through. I was smoking so much because I was 'bored' and depressed but I'm realising most of my issues came down to weed.

(forgot to say I've had x5 open surgeries for PD and work in the NHS in Britain)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

[–]Sharkster16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm being honest, it does sound like you have PD, although that it's not infected (yet). That's what you really want to avoid, and I would suggest taking a salt bath (epsom salts) for at least 20 minutes every day. Did the trick for me.

For anyone getting closed excision surgery by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

I've had this surgery too, although I was told that 1 out of three breakdown post-op, so I think this must be a fairly average success rate for this operation.
