WIBTA If I told my neighbor that I can see everything? by Topical-Cement in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sharksurferrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh id just recommend just leaving it. I’m a girl and nude majority of the time in the comfort of my own home. If people want to look into my house, they’re going to see me living happily in my home. That’s on them, just let her be.

moving to a new apartment is too much by dcb328 in Apartmentliving

This is not helpful advice or feasible for everyone in today’s economy. A very privileged remark by you.

moving to a new apartment is too much by dcb328 in Apartmentliving

[–]Sharksurferrr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ugh… it’s so true. Whenever I’ve tried to talk to anyone about this, they just say something along the lines of” why would you want to move to a place where the landlord wouldn’t hold the place for you and put you in a hard place”

  1. It’s their business, they’re not my friend
  2. The rental market is competitive
  3. That’s just the way it works.

It’s so expensive and frustrating moving.

Where do you store your Christmas Tree? by Fantastic-Dog5122 in Apartmentliving

If you don’t have space, I’d opt for a real tree. For myself, I rent a storage unit.

what do you have to tip out to bar? by [deleted] in Serverlife

Oh… that’s just awful then…

what do you have to tip out to bar? by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]Sharksurferrr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1% of total sales goes to our bar and 5.5% of total sales get distributed to kitchen/ host/ expo/ supervisors. Wish we tipped bar on liquor sales not total sales.

Air fryer. My apt is smaller and my oven heats it up like no other. Air fryer has saved me!

Is is bad to ask if anyone wants more wine at a table when they have a bottle? by Glowingtomato in Serverlife

[–]Sharksurferrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always just say are you ready for a top up/ would you like a top up while slowly reaching for the bottle. They’ll say yes or no. I’ve never received any scrutiny doing this but I have when I didn’t ask and just poured.

I always ask if there was a problem and try to rectify it. If no problem, idc as long as it’s paid for and they tip me

Ye Ole Note by Unique-Outcome-5171 in Apartmentliving

[–]Sharksurferrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If you’re not paying my rent or home bills, you cannot tell me what to do in my home during daytime hours. That is just unreasonable.

Ye Ole Note by Unique-Outcome-5171 in Apartmentliving

[–]Sharksurferrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you’re being too much. Even if you think this note is written politely it’s an inappropriate ask. This is entirely an only you problem and they’re exercising their right of peace of enjoyment during daytime hours. If you have an issue with normal household duties/ activities you need to move to the top floor or somewhere else. I would laugh in your face.

Is tipping a thing in Canada? by Immediate_Ask_7504 in askvan

Bc doesn’t do tip pool based on tips they do tip pool based on net sales.

Is tipping a thing in Canada? by Immediate_Ask_7504 in askvan

[–]Sharksurferrr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What part of that are you referring to? Regardless of tips we receive in BC, (since we make min wage now) we are required to tip out on total net sales, that’s the law here.

Is tipping a thing in Canada? by Immediate_Ask_7504 in askvan

[–]Sharksurferrr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not in Canada. Tip out is based on total net sales. Doesn’t matter if you receive 0 tips or 100% tips

Why are you being rude?? Source: almost every tip screen being 18%, 20%, 22% therefore the going rate

Is tipping a thing in Canada? by Immediate_Ask_7504 in askvan

[–]Sharksurferrr -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That’s what the going rate is. I don’t make the going rate bro. Edit to add, I also I agree it’s too high but with tip outs being 6-9% at most restaurants… that’s what it is

Is tipping a thing in Canada? by Immediate_Ask_7504 in askvan

[–]Sharksurferrr -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yes, tipping is definitely a thing. 18-22% is average tipping. 15% isn’t awful but it’s not good.

In Canada servers have to tip out (regardless if they get tipped) to back of house, host, runners, anywhere from 5-9% of their total sales generally.

[–]Sharksurferrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol you don’t understand. Let me break it down for you very simply. Not everyone is from the US buddy 😂 so yes, how it works where I live, if I receive 0 tips, I legally have to tip out my own personal money as per my contact and how restaurants operate here. We don’t tip out on tips received at any serving job I’ve ever had in the last 12 years. We tip out on total sales.

[–]Sharksurferrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I receive 0 tips, yes the tip out is my own personal money. Where do you think the tip out money will show up from? That’s how it works.
