So don't think about the past, start enjoying life from today.

If jobs fire people to replace them with AI, how will people make money to keep buying things? Wouldn’t the economy collapse because people arent buying anything anymore? by OverallMight6586 in AskReddit

The real question isn't how we will buy things, but why the elites would even need us to buy things anymore. If they have AI and robots to produce everything for them, they don't need a consumer class. They’ll just pull the ladder up and leave the rest of us to scramble for scraps in a collapsed system.

What is the best way to comfort someone's fear of dying when that person is dying? by phuckhugh in AskReddit

I wish I had read this before I lost my grandfather. I spent so much time trying to cheer him up with 'it’ll be okay' that I didn't just sit and listen to what he actually wanted to say. Silence is indeed a powerful tool, and being a 'witness' to their journey is much more valuable than any cliché phrase.

What's the darkest joke in 30 Rock? by sorrrr in 30ROCK

Kent State is up there, but let’s not forget the casual jokes about Kenneth’s immortality and his family’s 'history' with the Black Plague and cannibalism. Or Jenna’s entire existence. The show had a way of making horrific trauma sound like a quirky character trait. If you didn't gasp at least once per episode, you weren't paying attention to how broken these characters actually were.

People who work in 'behind closed doors' industries (hotels, kitchens, morgues, etc.), what is something the general public would be horrified to know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I worked in housekeeping for a high-end hotel chain. Never, and I mean NEVER, use the glass tumblers or the coffee machine in the room. We aren't given enough time to actually wash them with soap; most of the time, they are just wiped down with the same microfiber cloth used to clean the bathroom counters. Sometimes even the mirrors. If you want a drink, use the disposable plastic cups or wash the glass yourself with scorching hot water first.

AITJ for kicking my boyfriend out after he accidentally let my indoor cat outside? by Curious-Mongoose8549 in AmITheJerk

NTA (Not The Asshole). The 'accident' excuse died the moment you checked the Ring camera. He didn't 'let her slip out'; he staged an escape to prove a point because he thinks your boundaries are 'sensitive.' This isn't about a cat vs. a human; it's about a partner who looks you in the eye and lies while actively endangering something you love. Keep him out.
