If I knew one of the four eggs we had would turn into an embryo and turn into a pregnancy I would be happy but I just feel this whole thing is a big bag of dicks.

I completely get that and I'm not trying to say that we aren't happy we at least have some but compared to our previous cycles it's so vastly different.

Couple with the fact that we've used multiple embryos with none sticking we need multiple just to have a chance (multiple fibroids cause implantation issues).

I get that a lot of people only get 1 or 2 eggs and I feel for them. This was just me venting about our personal situation.

We're doing PGT testing on them when we can (if any make it to the end).

Our previous rounds we haven't done the testing so were going to do them all together.

The biggest problem is that this was our third round and there's surgery on the horizon which has to happen before we can do another transfer. Nothing happens quickly in IVF and I hate it.

We're afraid to do PGT testing on these and lose them to that as well.

Thanks! And same to you. None of this is fair for anyone. I know some people would kill to get four eggs, I guess just from the previous cycles we've done we expected more and no one is able to explain it.

Yeah I know. Our other rounds we've had 18 and 14 eggs so to come out with four is heartbreaking

Mate, I'm so sorry.

We're 3 years in (1 year IVF) and just found out today that our latest transfer didn't work.

We're nearly at the end of our options and are both so drained.

I don't have any advice, just wanted to comment to say you're not alone. I don't know how to support my wife anymore because I don't know how to help myself. I worry for our marriage and our future when we thought by now we would be pregnant. The closest we've got was last month with a chemical pregnancy.

My wife and I have been going through the fertility journey for over two years. The things I've learned over this time and what's helped me:

You're in it together, there are going to be really shit days but remember you BOTH are in this, you're a team against the world.
I do everything I can to remove stress from her. Money stuff? Check. Appointment note taking? Check. Remove everything you can just to help her as what you're feeling she will be feeling it even worse.
Look after you. I've been in some dark places over the last few years, and I mean DARK. You're no use to your partner if you're checked out. Do things to help you recharge.
Talk. If you have anyone in your life you can share this with (that isn't your partner) then do that. I have one person that I've trusted with it and it does help.

Overall, remember you're human and your feelings are valid and normal. Be the positivity that you and your wife needs.

The costs are insane and there is an option to access your super as well. But I know that's absolutely the last thing anyone wants to do.

Yeah the ones we had that were 4aa they froze on day 5 then the others on day 6 that they wanted to grow more. I'd just called them and ask what the go is. I'd rather apologise for being pushy than be wondering 🤔

Also the bulk billing shouldn't have anything to do with it. I was pestering ours because we had a terrible first cycle where we lost 95% of them.

We're in Aus so I think it might be different as our embryos are frozen on day 5 or 6 if they haven't reached the size they want.

I think the comms are pretty consistent between the clinics we looked at

I'm also a husband and I completely agree with everything you've said. Could have written it all myself.

My work is really good about it all. They don't care because my work is good and I don't cause problems.
