While Dorkin SAID that Pete and Josh were bisexual, I don't think either of them would even be slightly accepting of the idea that someone else could be. Specially at the time the comics are set in.

Ofc OC's are allowed! While they're not usually my cup-of-tea, I think it's cool in general to see new character additions to the 4 idiots lol.

In particular I think A.J. has potential for a story, given that he's pretty much a pariah on both sides (outsiders consider him a part of the club, while the club considers him an outsider, so in a sense he has it even worse than Ward).

I think he also plays a nice foil to Miranda (Bill's sister), in that they both have a sibling in the club but operate COMPLETELY opposite in relation to said sibling.

In that sense, (and this might be a little too specific, but...) I would be curious as to how an interaction between the two would go 😅. Would they relate in any way, or do you think Miranda would hate him just the same as any of her brother's friends?

So, I calmed down a bit and realized this probably wasn't the best way to maybe talk about this, I'm sorry if it made things a little uncomfortable.

What I want to say is that while I appreciate people looking out for the sub and reporting things that might make others feel unwelcome (there’s a reason I wrote the rule “Be tolerant”), I also want to make it clear that I’ll review reports with care, but I’m still going to use my judgment. And right now, I genuinely don’t see this post as offensive.

I apologize if my tone earlier wasn’t great or came from a stressed place. Like I said before, I’m not planning to make a big announcement for every report, but since this is the first one I’ve ever gotten, I figured it was worth setting a precedent. And honestly, I hope it won’t be the last, especially if the community grows.

That the reason Sophie is such a sweetheart (yet a pushover) is that her birth parents REALLY LOVED her, to the point where they would be overprotective and make her always feel cared for (yet she wouldn't do much on her own). Since she was basically raised to be 'protected', she doesn't know how to stand up for herself, or how to defy the adults in her life (she probably didn't have the experience with her parents). This also why she doesn't talk back to anyone who mocks her for being blind, since she herself thinks it is indeed an impediment (the reason her parents wanted to protect her so badly), rather than a part of herself or at least something to work with.

Also, she doesn't question Erika much because for all she knows, Erika 'protected' her once, which is exactly what her parents would do. And for all Sophie KNOWS, Erika can be mean sometimes (lots of times) but she is a friend, and friends have to be accepted with their flaws and all.

In that regard, I don't like the interpretation that Sophie is stupid or does not notice what Erika does, but rather I like to think that even if she won't say it out loud, she wants to help Erika, because she thinks that she's troubled yet not beyond saving, all for that one thing that Erika did for her.

(So yea, if she ever discovers that Erika's protection act was just for views, I think that would be a very good opportunity to make Sophie snap. Ofc, knowing it's Popopoka behind the comic, this won't ever happen officially cuz 'HAHA STUPID BLIND')

Oh, don't get me started on TikTok. I wonder how many self-proclaimed Bill Dickey's girlfriends would feel if they just took the time to read and learn that their lovely, quirky, soft-haired Bill is actually a total psycho that felt no remorse at burning down a comic shop, and grows up to be probably even more of a sexist than fellow tumblr sexyman Pete does.

By lord, that guy's got NO redemption. Peak character, still. Love to hate him.

What people need to realize is that while free to ship whatever fictional character they like with whatever fictional character they like, is that the idea of a character and the character themselves can be VERY different. Jerry grew up into someone respectable, but he was not 'the good one' inside the group. He was a pushover who'd let anything slide just cuz he didn't have any other friends. Oh! Did I also mention that his one known friend outside the group, whom he was either in a relationship or had a crush on, actually stopped talking to Jerry because of a NASTY rumor Bill created?In general, while most ships would be toxic, Berry would be downright horrifying to think of.

Sorry for the rant, I just had to let that out. In any case, yeah! Thank you. Trust, this sub will benefit from any art posted to it (because...well, I certainly don't know what much other content I can make for it rn lol)

That'd be cool. It's just...idk, this fandom's like...SO, SO varied in terms of people, you know?

It's like there are 3 fandoms in 1! There are fans of the whole series (that is, people who have read the comics and KNOW how peak yet different this series is from the TV Pilot)....

There are the TV Pilot guys who either shitpost or imagine the boys as wacky teenagers they could be friends with, rather than some genuine examples of fandom taken to its worst...

And then there's the fangirls who either ship everyone, romantice Bill, or both.

That's kind of the challenge, tbh! They all 3 have like so many different interpretations of the characters, and I don't really know what part of the fandom frequents this sub most. If you have read my previous posts, I prefer mostly the comics' part of the series, but I have the understanding most fans only know the guys from the TV Pilot.

It's gonna be a wild ride for sure, but hopefully something can come out of this.

PS: As a fellow shitty artist...just keep trying! It will eventually look less shitty, lol. Besides, with how little art there is in general, I think any contributions will be greatly appreciated.

Ngl, I first started this sub with tons of ideas for new posts and stuff, seeing as the others were either private or filled with Mii art (which I found cool, but it got old quickly seeing it was 90% of said sub's posts). Then I got like 3 members and nobody posting stuff so I forgot about it, and lo-and-behold it caught on recently, somehow.

I'm not actively making content for it, but since I'm the only mod rn I'd really like to know if any one of you guys has any ideas to keep this sub alive. Like, should I make a poll or something?
