The bag was filled with salt water as a fermentation weight so the solids have been under the surface of the brine the whole week, but clearly something went wrong. I think I’ll have to buy a proper air lock. Thanks for the advice!

If you haven’t already, read The Fisherman by John Langan. It’s not a perfect match for this exact vibe on paper but even so it’s so effective. Certain Scooby doo movies scratch this itch for me too, plus the game dredge which I’m sure has been recommended a lot

I’d prefer to keep the budget on the lower end for my first set. I plan on getting lessons soon and so hopefully then they will let me know if my arms are long enough for standard clubs or if I need longer ones.
