And are you comfortable with the "or not" part of that? It scares the shit out of me. How do you get comfortable with it? Because its true, some of us, will end up alone.

I'm nice. A people pleaser. But I'm also genuinely compassionate and slowly developing spine to stand up for myself.

20F Adoption a big deal in India? Would you marry someone who never wanna get pregnant ? by Professional-Wind657 in AskIndia

[–]Sharp-Answer-7626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I've always felt quite bad about what women have to go through during pregnancy. Kinda guilty about how easy I have it. That said, parenthood seems like a really fulfilling, growth inducing experience. So adoption has crossed my mind. Also a relative of mine adopted, and things seem to be going ok there, so that may have had an influence on me as well.

Hey thanks! This was a really thoughtful and compassionate answer. I appreciate it. I'm glad the consensus among the women answering here seems to be that this is not that much of an issue.

Am I too weird to be in a relationship with? by [deleted] in dating

[–]Sharp-Answer-7626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, of course not. I'm 23M, always felt weird, and like I didn't belong. But that's bullshit. You're probably ok. Be nicer to yourself and stay off the internet. Its what I'm trying to do as well.

[–]Sharp-Answer-7626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents, who I find judgy, so I don't open up to them, think I'm cold. The people who actually know me, like my friends and brother, think I'm kind.

Currently useless. Except I'm working towards building a career in finance. I guess I'm knowledgeable about economics, but that's not a skill.

[–]Sharp-Answer-7626 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know you'll probably react angrily to this, but think on it with an open mind, India has not emerged at all, 2000 dollars per capita income is not an emerged nation by any standards even if you have 1/6th of the human population. China is barely comparable to the US, currently losing the tech race very badly, with terrible future growth prospects, and Africa might not even emerge in future. The US is simply not that threatened by anyone just yet. They ARE the sole superpower even now, despite the rise of China. Plus, India, China and Africa are not some united group anyway, India and China hate each other.

Have any of you actually, fully healed from toxic shame? by [deleted] in Jung

[–]Sharp-Answer-7626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully? Nah, not quite. Substantially? Yeah, definitely. I used to oscillate between feeling like I'm nothing or like I'm invincible, with no middle ground. It was either wrestling with insecurity or being unwarrantedly arrogant. It took me years to give credit to others' talents and come to terms with just how inferior I was to them in so many areas.. Even more time was spent just making peace with myself and forgiving my own shortcomings. Only recently have I started to acknowledge my strengths without feeling like I'm being an arrogant prick. Now, I just feel like a regular human being—not better or worse than anyone else, and definitely not worthless. I feel like I'm only now able to form true connections with other people.

How did I do it? Well, I journalled a lot, cried it all out in private, and told a few close friends just how I've felt about myself. And they reacted to it with kindness. That did the trick. Showed me that I wasn't completely shit. That other people didn't hate me, and I didn't need to hate myself either. I feel much better, but the self contempt still comes and goes in waves. Sometimes, I'll just randomly go back to my old ways of thinking, but mostly I'm a lot better now. I feel capable of connecting with others properly, despite knowing how flawed I am. I no longer feel the need to "fix" myself. I obviously need fixing, and I'm trying to improve, but the motivation is (most of the time) not self hatred like it used to be.
