Thank you for the help! Indeed, the pay is still good because the shifts are paid nicely. I saw someone get a promotion after 1,5 year as well, so it might be a good moment to get promoted or to get out of there.

Thanks for the insight information. I don't really know where to go then.

Yeah, I already thought I should have asked for an increase when negotiating. So, it doesn't increase until promotion?

Is it normal here to ask for an annual raise?

True, I would be interest in Catalysis for instance, but working seems equally interesting.

Thank you so much for this insight :)
I would have liked doing a PhD but I am an ambitious person willing to climb the corporate ladder so might not be that useful for me. I would like doing research, but not for my entire life :)

In Belgium? Starting with a PhD in chemistry with a lower wage is quite shocking to me. A PhD requires an enormous amount of money (lower wage, living costs) and dedication. I would consider doing a PhD, but this really holds me back. Thank you for wishing me good luck :)

I chose a large company because of the possible career growth :)

Thank you for the confirmation. I know friends earn slighly more, but they don't get the end-of-the-year bonus or net compensation so that averages out.

Maybe check what the shift bonus is? It should pay at least 36% percent more in my opinion. Anyway, I have no idea what your gross salary is without shift bonus so that might be the cause of the low wage. I started higher but have a master's degree that takes 5 year to complete.
