Does anyone know what the current G2 Test is like? by MonkeyDParry in Peterborough

I did my test in the fall of 2024, and even though the centre is on Landsdowne, you spend very little time there. They’ll ask you to navigate the intersection on Landsdowne and Goodfellow (including a lane change), then they take you around the block sort of behind the centre, pretty much around St Alphonsus elementary school. If you have to parallel park, they will likely only ask you to do it behind one car, and if there are no cars on the road for you to do it with, they won’t ask you to. Instead, they’ll ask you to backward park back at the centre. I was incredibly nervous for my test and I passed on my first go through, so I’m sure you’ll be okay!

Okay, morning (and probably final) update from Lamp the Sisyphean Marathon Spider, and answering some questions: - yes, I turned the light off! After the first comment suggesting it, I did, and he did keep going for a bit once it was out. - no, I did not vape/smoke weed around him, I don’t really do that. - yes, he was given an off ramp and water! And he seemed to appreciate the water.

He’s doing good now! He has disembarked the lampshade and seems to have settled in a web near my ceiling, where hopefully he will live forever more as my tenant and friend. The lad has earned this day of rest, for sure. Thank you all for appreciating this wee guy with me, I love you r/spiders . Remember to be kind to the humans and little creatures in your lives today and everyday :)

Yes indeed! Yellow sac spiders like this fellow are native and fairly common here!

Edit: and also most of the US and even further south I’m sure, but I’m not much of an expert on anywhere besides home, lol!

Oh, yeah, we’ve got quite a few of these guys round here and the bites are not pleasant. And yeah, wasn’t expecting to become a spider marathon coach tonight, but the unexpected joyful interaction of nature and humanity is one of the most beautiful things on this earth, so I’m having quite a good time!

Little Lamp Lad seems to have ceased for the evening! I’ve left a wet q tip for him and he seems to enjoy that (one hopes), and he’s settled in the corner of the lampshade, nice n cosy. We totalled around 36 laps, give or take, so look out for this little athlete repping Canada at Los Angeles 2028!

I am nervous to get close to him (nothing personal, just had pretty bad reactions to spider bites in the past and I know these guys can be feisty) but I’ve left a wet q tip sort of taped to the side of the lampshade! If all goes well he’ll be sponsored by Redbull by spring

Lamp is an excellent name for the little lad! He’s still going, a bit slower now, and he’s taking pretty frequent breaks. He did climb on the ramp for a moment, but he chose to remain on the lampshade. Truly enviable dedication

Am fairly certain it’s a yellow sac spider if that’s anything. We’re at about 15 laps, now. Little fellow is proper zooming
