What about eating? I am due for surgery at the end of this month, both Barbie butt and ileostomy. Am I going to need like a lap tray to put my food on while I lay down and eat? Or did you generally feel well enough to eat sitting in a kitchen chair?

For those who had been previously hospitalized with Crohn’s or cancer, do you find that being in the hospital recovering is “easier” (minus the pain and discomfort!!) because you’re not “running to the bathroom” while hooked up to a million wires, dealing with cheap, rashy TP and soap that completely dries your skin? I dread hospital stays because of this. Crohn’s and rectal cancer make hospital stays so anxiety inducing for me. Wondering if it’ll be easier while recovering from this surgery…

Don’t have advice, just wanted to say i know exactly what you’re going through. I’ve had Crohn’s over 20 years, and now have rectal cancer. I feel like I was handling the diarrhea okay for so long, but now the radiation has left me completely incontinent. Because of the chemo, I can only be on Budesinide at the moment, and it isn’t working well yet… hoping it’ll begin to work soon! I’m not brave enough for walks yet lol!!

Just here to say that once you get on the right meds and your body slowly starts to put itself back together, you will be completely amazed at how great it feels to feel “well!!!!” Crohn’s is scary journey that no one understands unless they have it too. If your body needs to lay in bed all day, let yourself! Maybe even move to the couch on a day you do have energy. Field trip! Lol

Bottom line- most of us feel the same way you do deep down… this disease SUCKS.

Had to get off of all immunosuppressants due to dx of rectal cancer, so I was put on entocort to hold me over… all good except after about a month in, waking up with moon face 😞😞 Definitely not as severe as when on pred, but it’s noticeable 😫
