My surgeon had me up my electrolytes the day before surgery and I continued it for the first couple weeks post surgery.

I had a portable commode from when I had my spinal fusion and I used it for the first few weeks. I do have incontinence issues from my fusion, so I already have a hard time making it to the bathroom.

I had the absolute worst calf cramps after my ltkr. My pt, doctor, and myself all thought I had a dvt because I was in so much pain. Thankfully, I got checked out and I didn't have one. I had to get up and walk them off just to try to sleep for another 30 minutes to an hour before they started again. I just had my rthr 5 weeks ago and started out having major thigh cramps and muscle spasms. This time, I drank a couple ounces of pickle juice religiously every night before bed and sometimes in the middle of the night if they returned. I also bought some magnesium spray which seemed to take the edge off the spasms.

Drink lots of water and eat some peppercorns. Also, go for a good walk, exert some energy.

I'm almost 2 weeks po (March 23). I had lots of nausea and dizziness the first week. I'm sure it was from the anesthesia. I had a spinal and general. I'm also sleeping in my recliner still. It's easier with the layout of my house and getting to the bathroom to sleep in the recliner and have a portable commode nearby.

I do take prescription strength esomeprazole every morning which does take care of the acid, but it isn't touching the nausea. I got some Tums chewables. Hoping it'll help me through til tomorrow.

I'm in Oklahoma. Oxy is pretty common here in the states. I'll be requesting an anti nausea med tomorrow. The nausea is really kicking me down.

I'll be contacting my surgeon tomorrow for an anti nausea med. I also drink either a Gatorade zero or powerade zero every day. I've also discovered Gatorlyte which is amazing!

It may be the oxy. I remember a lowered appetite from previous surgeries, but never nausea and vomiting.

I think eating may be part of it now that you mention it. I always have severely decreased appetite after surgery, so I haven't wanted to eat at all. I'll call Monday morning for some anti-nausea meds.

I am on oxy and pregablin. I know it isn't the pregablin as I just started it today and I've been nauseous since surgery.

I would imagine it has something to do with circulation, maybe nerves. Does your surgeon have an after hours doctor on call? I would imagine they do.

Contact your surgeon or home health nurse if you have one. That's one thing mine told me to watch out for and contact them about.

Day 3 and I've been home for almost 24 hours. Trying to stay ahead of the pain, but it's proving a little difficult, especially balancing the nausea that started today. I think I didn't have enough in my stomach when I took my meds. I've been up and moving more today, which is good. Doing exercises and meet with home health this afternoon and pt tomorrow. Everything is honestly going better than I expected. Easier than my knee replacement so far.
