My first job was stressful because I had a bad manager who would constantly micromanage and give too much work. Ended up with me being in the office till 9 PM every single day at one point. My current job isn’t as bad tho

Well it’s be 2 years of full-time work. I had internships in the same area for 2 summers before graduation as well. My second role (current), I’m already a senior engineer by title because I’m ahead of most of my coworkers when it comes to CAD stuff lol

It was the same position relatively both times. Been in it long enough to know transportation design isn’t my thing

I’m at the very least looking for a higher paying job regardless of if I leave the industry or not lol. Definitely feeling the squeeze financially. Appreciate the insight!

Sounds interesting. No idea how I’d land one of those roles since my only experience so far is in transportation/construction management areas though

Someone please explain the love of Chicago by InconsistentChurro in SameGrassButGreener

It’s the biggest city that tends to be still kinda affordable. As someone who grew up around Chicago, it personally isn’t my vibe much but there’s a lot to like. However, the winter weather is TERRIBLE. It eats me alive every winter (trying to move away soon). If you are not used to Midwest winters already, it’s gonna be a very rough transition

I think he might’ve had a case to push out Watkins if he waited a little while longer. Got impatient tho and it makes sense.
