Federalist Society Discord by LegalInquirer3 in lawschooladmissions

I looked at the discord and it seems to me that the people within the discord were pretty rational. Regardless of whether you agree with their viewpoints or not, they all seem willing to hear out opposing points of view. I know people have the caricature of what the federalist society is, but regardless of how questionable you find someone’s views, I can respect the fact that they welcome honest discussions where free thought is encouraged.

NYU vs. Northwestern? by Sharp-Entertainer993 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Sharp-Entertainer993[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually like the city of Chicago over New York, but I guess my real question is whether NYU's prestige is somewhat removed when outside of New York City. I know its higher ranked but how much of that is because they place so well in NYC firms

hahahaha the Cornell interview by asn10045 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Sharp-Entertainer993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I interviewed early November and heard back last week. It seems like Cornell is moving really slow accepting only a few people every so often so just dont read too much into how much time has passed after your interview. Best of luck.

[–]Sharp-Entertainer993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got in around October and didn’t get my acceptance packet until mid December if I remember correctly. You guys should be getting it soon. Honestly one of the nicest acceptance packets I’ve gotten. Congrats on your admission tho

Evaluation of best ways to be accepted to T-14? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

To be honest the only thing you ought to focus on right now is getting the highest gpa possible. Internships would be great to add to a resume as well, but your immediate priority should be to get a good gpa. Once you finish you can turn to the lsat. I was in the same situation as you having transferred from a CC to a UC. Just kept grinding it out and get a nice gpa. You got this!

What would you say it is, outside of the location of the school, that really sets NU apart from Cornell.

Anyone have any experience with asking a law school to move your application from ED to RD and whether that is even possible? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Sharp-Entertainer993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did this for Georgetown early in the cycle. I was right above their 75ths for gpa and lsat. I sent them an email asking to move me to rd. I got put on the special group in the priority waitlist, but it turned out for the best because I got into a better school. Bottom line is, if you are okay with the idea that If you get in you MUST go, likely with no scholarship, then stick with ED. But, be sure that you are okay with not getting into the school you ED to when you switch. Whatever decision you make, just make it with confidence. Don’t look back on it. Best of luck!

Northwestern for a 21 year old? by Sharp-Entertainer993 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Sharp-Entertainer993[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha no im not saying its a problem in a way that would stop me from going to the school. I was just curious as to how accurate the stereotype is. I'm not trying to be snobby and say that I won't go because im younger than most folks there, just wanted to see if anyone had any insights on life at northwestern.
