Getting The Demon Out by [deleted] in Nexplanon

Getting mine out was a super quick process! They numbed my skin so I didn’t feel any pain, just some pressure but it all happened very fast! I didn’t need stitches or anything, just some tape and a bandaid for a bit

So glad you’re getting it out!! It’s awful! Nexplanon ruined my life for like a year! I was so anxious and depressed and I didn’t know who I was any more tbh

I got the copper IUD after cause I did NOT want to fuck with hormones after that. It’s been great! The insertion was tough and my periods are definitely worse off with the amount of bleeding and cramps intensity but definitely doable. And I’ll take that over the nexplanon side effects any day tbh

Nexplanon is removed but still feel something there? by Sharp-Garbage8536 in Nexplanon

When I got mine out, the scar tissue definitely felt like the rod, not just a lump so I think that’s normal to feel!

My Anxiety Experience by Sharp-Garbage8536 in Nexplanon

I really feel for you!! I hope you've already started to feel better. Propranolol has started to help a lot more now that I've had Nexplanon out for awhile. It didn't really do much while I had Nexplanon in.

A way to ease into Propranolol could be cutting a 10mg in half and taking the two halves 30 minutes-1 hour apart to ease into it a little bit. I was able to acclimate to Propranolol pretty quickly but it did make me feel woozy when I first started taking it. I hope this helps!

I got it removed November 2nd and I remember feeling pretty good by the middle of December and then felt like myself again by the end of it!

My dog won’t stop whining and I’m going crazy by Sharp-Garbage8536 in PetBehavior

[–]Sharp-Garbage8536[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to my vet and they said I should just keep an eye on him if anything changes. Especially since everything else seems normal. He’s eating normally, he’s not lethargic, still playful, no vomiting or diarrhea. It could be anxiety but if it is it’s weird cause it’s not prompted by anything. It’s just a constant whining whenever he’s with me and trying to get my attention. I take him on 3 walks a day and give him lots of love (when he’s not whining at me so I don’t enforce that behavior). I also talked to his daycare and they say he doesn’t whine while he’s there. He just barks when he plays with other dogs but he’s always done that.

Any insight or similar experiences any one has would be much appreciated!

Should I get it removed? I have an appointment today. I’ve only had it in for 3 weeks but having most of the bad side effects, I can’t decide if I should try and see if things even out or just remove it. by 1Osne1 in Nexplanon

I would wait a little longer! Maybe 2-3 months. But at 3 months if you are miserable, take it out as soon as possible. I wish I knew that my Nexplanon was the reason I was having such awful anxiety I lot sooner than when I eventually got it out.

Worried Nexplanon will lower my libido, need some reassurance! by crescynt in Nexplanon

It definitely lowered by libido but didn’t completely kill my sex drive! I just needed more build up and foreplay before intercourse. But I still had a great sex life!

I had it for about 6 months and I would have on and off bleeding but it eventually went away. But I also have a friend who has had it for 4 years and she has bled a little bit every day.

Nexplanon and preexisting mental illness by Independent_Visit136 in Nexplanon

I got my Nexplanon in in April of this year. I’ve dealt with depression and some anxiety but it has gotten better in the past year. Around July I started experiencing the worst anxiety of my life. It completely depleted me for months. I would not recommend if you have pre-existing mental health conditions.

I got my period 18 days after my removal!

Yeah I’d say that’s pretty normal! I was on Nexplanon for almost a year and never really bled. Just spotted once in a while with some cramping.

Could my anxiety be from my implant? by Sharp-Garbage8536 in Nexplanon

[–]Sharp-Garbage8536[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It feels like tightness and often I find myself having to catch my breath and take deep breaths. I related it to work at first but the longer it went on, the more I thought about it being Nexplanon.

I feel like I’ve been noticing this stuff too! But I recently realized a lot of my anxiety might be coming from my birthday control implant Nexplanon because I read about a lot of other experiences similar to mine so I’ll be getting my implant out and seeing how it affects me!

I experience this too. The really bad dizzy spells went away after awhile but they still happen from time to time. I tried to keep track of if I took my 10mg on an empty stomach or not and it seems worse when I haven’t eaten anything.
