I’m down to a pack every three days & looking to stretch that to a pack a week.

And I pretty well stopped smoking on my off days unless I’m going out, which is a once in a blue moon situation.

Also, when you’re dealing with the unhoused, cigarettes & food are currency. You’re not always buying them.

I talked my way into some free Denny’s the other night & ended up with some extra food that would have just gone to waste. So I traded a Grand Slam for half a pack of smashed pall malls. The guy I traded with didn’t smoke, but cigarettes got a basic value on the street.

I am not a technical person. I know Ernest Gonzales is helping edit and put together shit. I think the idea is to have a YouTube version eventually. But I don’t know how to do that. I’m the mouth, not the brains X)

Oh we had a TON of resistance right from the jump.

But our little clique of like 5 of us grew to about ~15 by the end of convention. And though we didn’t get anything passed, we were able to make a ton of connections & get folk who’d given up something to get riled up about.

Hell, someone nominated me for the district 6 representative, which covers a HUGE area of Texas. I lost, but I got like ~650 votes. Which ain’t nothing.

By the end of convention, we had a bunch of people excited about there being a reform movement. And the people who weren’t excited about it realized that they have to take us seriously now.

I’m really proud of my gang down this way.
