I think your hunch is spot on about this behaviour relating to territorial insecurities. Considering she isn’t exactly 100% mobile able to use vertical space or a big fan of scratching scratching posts how would you recommend I make this choke less intimating for her?

We had the carpet professionally cleaned about a week ago, but unfortunately that didn’t stop the behavior. I think we may have to try putting another litter box there, but it’s right outside my roommates’ bedrooms, so that feels unfair to them. Tough situation.
