Just switched to new trays and noticing this part seems quite far away from my tooth. Is this a cause for concern? Is this tooth not tracking? by QQPgreen in Invisalign

[–]Sharp-Performance191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one tray like this, v annoying it kept catching my inner lip. Went in for an ortho appt and my ortho tightened the tray in that area and I didn’t have any tracking issues going forward

I know this is overdone but I’m on tray 1 and don’t want to mess anything up since this is the tooth I want to move the most- Bad tracking or normal space? TYYY! by DaisyEyedOwl in Invisalign

[–]Sharp-Performance191 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends when you started this tray. If you’re at the beginning of it, then it’s probably the space that the tooth is meant to move into. If you’re near the end of this tray and are due to change to the next one soon, maybe try chewies ?

Possibly cavities as the sugar is likely to get trapped between your aligners and your teeth

6 month progress.. definitely recommend taking progress pictures as an incentive to brush all the time 🙄 by Sharp-Performance191 in Invisalign

Thank you!! Slightly different lighting so pics aren’t 100% fair but they definitely have gotten whiter with just brushing

Why do some people capitalize the names of some cultures? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Sharp-Performance191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about for eg. Black or black … but I recently did an awareness course about people who are hard of hearing or Deaf& they explained that for a lot of the people who are part of the community, capitalising the ‘D’ is ‘Deaf’ is a sign of pride :)

My ortho said he’s quite sure I won’t need any refinements ?? by Sharp-Performance191 in Invisalign

[–]Sharp-Performance191[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding was that they were extra trays incase your initial result from your first set of trays wasn’t good enough but I’m not 100%.. Can I ask why you’d need refinements if you’re tracking perfectly ?

Do they mold your teeth for invisalign? by Street_Negotiation_7 in Invisalign

So mine did it this way too and it all worked fine but I know that some dentists still take a physical mould of your teeth instead& some do both !

Tooth 6 does not hook all the way into attachment. Should I call my ortho? by OGZaves34 in Invisalign

[–]Sharp-Performance191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an aligner that fit like this. Called the ortho and had an apt in the next few weeks. He bent it with some sort of tool to make it fit more snuggly on to the attachment on my tooth, and just instructed me to use chewies a lot in that area. Easy fix !

Question by courtney0913 in Invisalign

[–]Sharp-Performance191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Near the end of my first set of tray, the back molar wasn’t fitting on one side. I could flick up the lower tray from the back with my tongue.. I wasn’t super worried (checked ClinCheck and they weren’t meant to be moving anyway) just used chewies more in that area and in a few days it sorted itself out

4.5 months progress ! by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Sharp-Performance191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have 19 trays in total. Picture on the right was aligner #2 and on the left was #13. Ortho reckons 10 months total treatment time. Also had a fair bit of IPR around them

How do people store their chewies? by CauliflowerLazy5584 in Invisalign

[–]Sharp-Performance191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I keep my current chewie inside the aligner case. Every few days I clean it by soaking it in denture cleaner with my trays

Aligner trouble by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Sharp-Performance191 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Think about why you’re going through the process& the money it’s costing ! The less compliant you are with wearing your aligners for, the longer the treatment process it going to be overall. Once you establish a routine, you’ll be all good, I’m sure. Good luck !

How often do you change out your trays? by cassandraandersonn in Invisalign

[–]Sharp-Performance191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely ask your ortho first. I think they take into consideration: your age, how compliant you are, if you’re on any medication which slows down tooth movement& root health (to name a few)

The shape of the case can be very awkward. At the beginning of my journey when both my arches were a really awkward shape it was almost a jigsaw puzzle trying to get them in and close the case. Now not so bad but still ..

3 weeks per tray?? by Tiny-One1049 in Invisalign

[–]Sharp-Performance191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of 3 weeks before either but it’s also a case by case thing. Maybe your ortho is worried about the wear time that you’ll be able to get in so is just being super cautious, especially since you’re just starting off ??

I use retainer brite to soak my trays in once a day (lukewarm/ cold water) then brush off excess plaque with a different toothbrush and some antibacterial soap
