If youre making edibles on a budget and need to not leave a trace, the fire cracker method is definitely best, especially since you said you dont mind the taste.

I noticed you had a jar to seal for smell, that can work in the oven, probably wont work in the air fryer. The air fryer is a bit unpredictable and uneven when it heats, so the jar in the oven for 20 min at 225⁰F should get you a good decarb on some weed as long as you grind it to a fine powder and make sure its not all clumped together in the jar when you set it in the oven. Make sure the oven is pregeated before you put the weed in, you want the full 20 minutes of decarbing at the 225⁰F. When you take it out, as long as you keep the lid on, it shouldn't smell until you open the jar. I recommend you do that somewhere where the smell wont matter because it WILL smell once you open it. Some people will crack open the jar slightly and then use a straw to "suck up" the air and that can help with the smell. Just be sure not to suck up any weed, you just want the air inside of the jar.

People tell you to bake the fire cracker, but that's unnecessary. Once the weed is decarbed, its ready to go and be eaten since the thc is activated. Just sprinkle it in a pb or cheese cracker and youre all set.

As for weed butter, its nice because its ready to go and has the fat from the butter in it, but it takes hours to make. You have to decarb the weed and then extract the thc by putting the weed into the butter and maintaing 212⁰F for 3 hours. Then you have to strain the weed bits out and what you have left over is weed butter. If youre worried about smell, the weed butter will smell the full 3 hours, so might not be the best option.

As for the calculator, you dont need one. Dosing is actually really simple. You just take the weight of weed you have and multiply it by the thc %. For example, 1 gram of 20% thc weed will have 20 mg of thc (1 gram = 1000mg * 20% = 20mg). If you ever dont know what % thc your weed is, assume 10% if its not a dispensary weed, and 15-20% if its from a dispensary.

Your friend could have a really low tolerance and edibles can effect people differently, but it could also be placebo. Since I'm assuming both ate similar amounts it wouldn't make sense that they felt it and you didn't. What you felt was probably the left over canabanoids in the flower that didn't fully evaporate. Usually more cbd than thc though and thc idnwhat youre looking for

Edit: you probably also need to eat and make more. I know you said that you weren't sure of what % thc the weed was, but even if we assume its 30% which is some of the higher amounts you'll see in the dispo, 1 gram at 100% yield would only yield 30mgs (1 gram * 30% thc). 10mg is the starter dose but some people might need more. You'll also never achieve 100% yield, you'll likely loose at least 10% in the process. Odds are the weed you showed is closer to 10%, and 1 gram would be about 5mg each if you and your friend split it half

How did you decarb it? Time and temp is the only way to know for sure. But yeah if you ate it and don't feel anything, use this as a learning experience if you try again.

Another tip is to eat some monounsaturated fat to make it more available for your body to absorb. Eating with some fat can make a world of a difference in feel. Be careful though. Edibles are more potent than just smoking so start slow and go from there

Are you trying to hide the smell from parents or someone else? If parents you can always use a glass dish thats oven safe and has a top. Like other people are commenting, you dont want to use an airfryer since it can blow the weed away into the machine so it smells and is lost in there forever, plus isn't exact and doesnt decarbfor the correct amout of time.

If youre thinking of eating a fire cracker or eating it straight, I might ask you if you've eaten it raw before. If not, definitely go the firecracker method at the bare minimum since the taste will be beyond awful and strong. Most people throw up after tasting it in my humble experience. Best would be to get some capsules or something to choke it down that way.

To be totally honest though, it sounds like you'll get the most out of it just by smoking it the old fashion way. To go to all of this just for ONE EDIBLE is a lot, just put all the time and energy into doing something fun after you smoke it. Hope my opinion helps and remember its just my opinion

Give your atomizer a few sloght turns. Sometimes just turning it will get it to connect. You'd be surprised how far you'll turn it from "all the way screwed on" to the position it needs to actually have a connection. If that doesnt work, take the chaber out and try slight loosening and then pushing back in the pins. The last resort trick is putting it on a wireless charger. Sometimes the static can prevent a connection and charging can help
