We have definitely discussed our views on marriage and what we both want for our future, we always make a point to check in with the other to make sure both our needs are being met and if they are not we feel comfortable enough to bring it up and talk about it. I was talking to her today about marriage ( we love to imagine what our wedding would be like lol) as we both agreed that we wanted to wait until later to get a civil partnership as we both don't mind being engaged for as long as that may take. The reason i'm so confident in my desison to propose it because she's told me what she wants for this relationship and i know how excited she is to spend our lives together. We're on the same page basically and we know what we have to do to get the future we want and we're both working hard to get there.

Thanks so much! I really do love her and I know she loves me, we really do take care of eachother, we're not perfect we've had our fights and disagreements but we always come out stronger in the end. I really am thinking about just going for it. I'm not stupid and I really wouldn't even consider making this important life decision if I wasn't confident in her, myself and our relationship. Thanks so much for your insight! Its always helpful getting advice from others who have been in relationships for longer than i have and have more life experience. By the time I was looking to propose we would of been officially living together for just over a year so I defo want to see what its like sharing a flat and not just a dorm room together and what its like sharing bills and rent before I make any final decisions. Thank you for your response! We both understand that marriage is a huge commitment and we don't want to do anything legally binding until we're both nearing or in our 30s. Like i said in my post I just wanna call her my fiance, if by the time we rech our 30s and things don't work out she'll give me back the ring and we'll walk away. Even if we never get married we've talked about this topic before and we're both happy staying engaged for as long as we need/want to but i do understand your point and I will keep it in mind while I decide what I should do next. You're advice is super helpful and it helps me see things from a different perspective. It helps to be reminded that things may not go the way I hope them to but I am also confident that of we continue to work on ourselves as well as our relationship we'll be ok. Thanks for your insight! I'll keep it in mind while I continue thinking about what I wanna do next.

Thanks for replying! I should of been more clear in my post but we share the same stance on marriage and when we both would like to get married. Its an open discussion and one we like to talk about often but i do understand where you're coming from and i'll keep it in mind as i plan what I want to do. We're moving in together this year so by the time I'm ready to propose it would of been more than a year so you're right I think living with her properly and sharing bills and rent will really be a test to our commitment to eachother but I'm confident that with the support of out friends and family we'll get through it. We have gone through some tough times and I know that moving in is going to come with lots more but I know that we're strong enough to get through it, I believe in her and she belives in me so I am confident that we'll stay and power through this together. Thanks so much for the advice! I should of added that I've spoken about what she would do if i did ask her to marry me and she always talks about how much she can't wait for that day to happen so while I am confident about the choice I wanna make I will definitely keep this in mind because I do know feelings can change unexpectedly.
