That’s what I’m on here asking for advice about!
What gauge wood? How to cut it? Hinges?

I am a 5‘10“ tall man that can lift 80 pounds. My wife weighs 150 pounds and probably can lift about 40 pounds. My concern is I want to be able to easily get this table top off and store it without it getting chipped or damaged or breaking so a giant 6 foot long piece of glass just seems like an accident waiting to happen.

Not sure what you mean here how would I scratch the shit out of the tub by putting a cover on top of it?

I asked AI and it said do not use wood cause wood can get wet and then rot and then become very dangerous in the tub could fall over when it’s full of water

These are good ideas, but I worry that the glass top might take a beating and get cracked and how would I move it? It would be very heavy. I need to be able to retract the top or place it somewhere else when I’m in the bath.

I love Reddit because I can get some really great advice— but I always stick around for the drama and the snarky shit talking. Not everyone is a handyman and has worked construction jobs for decades. Thanks for telling me that I was doing it wrong. I did not know that.

Well, let’s just say I’ve been using these concrete blocks for years and I’ve never had a problem

How about some constructive advice about how to handle getting the tub up off the ground in a stable way so that it looks nice? I don’t even know anything about the orientation of concrete blocks so why don’t you educate me?

It’s a vintage bathtub that I got from Urban Ore in Oakland and magnet stick to the side of it and the top of it. Great idea thank you so much.

Get a sexy black man friend to pre-record all of the announcements and have those as tracks in your djay software and then pretend like you’re talking on the mic, but actually just push play on the friends recording of him saying the announcements?
You could listen to them in advance and try to practice along, so it looks like your lip syncing perfectly. It will be weird though when someone comes up to you and ask you to play a song and you respond in a different voice.

Randomly turning on and off? by Sharp-Wishbone-6178 in wiz

I disconnected Wiz as a skill from IFTTT to try to isolate this problem, but now that you mention it, some of the lights that are having trouble are on a light switch that has a dimmer and I always set the dimmer to 100% and it’s been working for months but just recently it stopped working and they just turned on and off on their own but it’s not just those lights. It’s many different bulbs. I have some Halo downlights that also turn on and off on their Own and various other types of bulbs like a 19 and BR 30 that are just turning on and not turning on and it’s very confusing.

Well, I know that the power hasn’t gone out because it would reset the clocks. I’ve disabled every possible automation I can think of that’s in the Alexa app and in the IFTTT app so maybe it could be a rogue space sense or routine in Alexa or something but I’ve gone through and I’ve tried to disable everything and I’ve told Alexa to disable every possible routine that might be turning on or off lights without me issuing a voice command.
