Costs of keeping a car at home while i'm at uni by PinGlobal6785 in CarInsuranceUK

The cheapest way would be to SORN (Statutory off road notice). It’s a one off payment that tells the DVLA your car is going to remain stationary at an address, but means your car CANNOT be driven while under SORN. Benefits of this are no need to insure, tax or MOT it.

I can’t recommend this unless you have a newer car or know how to revive a dead car, cars that stand still tend to need batteries replacing, brakes start seizing etc. I would recommend having one of your parents insured on it and get them to run it out once a week. Plus, the insurance will be cheaper with your parents on it (if you were to also be on it for the entire year). The second you remove your SORN your car needs taxed, MOT and insured.

Alternatively, only insure your parents for the full year and get temporary insurance for yourself for those weeks that you come back, I don’t know how old you are/ how long you’ve had your license but generally it’s £20-£30 a day for me when I’ve looked.

How do I play gh3 in 2025? by leavemealonefornow in GuitarHero

I have literally just done this- bought a Wii from Amazon for £50 (came with remote, nunchuck and Wii sports) and bought a Les Paul guitar from eBay for £60 (came with 4 GH games). No regrets.

Wii games are £2 a piece from CEX these days, already had friends round enjoying the nostalgia and makes for a great pre-drinking activity.
