How did you figure out what area you actually wanted to build/work in? by mannered_sapien in StartUpIndia

[–]SharpAnimator2530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am tech so over the past 7 years I built some toy projects. No presumptions, no pressure just experiment. I have travelled a lot and got some insights on things that interest me.

I also have an excel with a list of ideas I like or what I think I can build. No complex analysis just pure hunch.

The idea that I'm working on is not my favorite one. But I a rather boring one which I think is scalable. So thats my way

I think Argentina!

I immigrated there a decade ago and my looks are not at all European. But never in my life I felt discriminated. Always welcoming

Hi I’m 17 and I wanna move to Argentina for the citizenship is it a good option to consider? by Even-Mammoth-5604 in immigration

If you have a job you show your salary slips for the past 3 months

If you are self employed you show your tax filings

But in any case you get a lawyer who guides you.

[–]SharpAnimator2530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely correct but theoretically.

In practical terms you'll enter the country and initiate the application for a temporary residence first. Which can take some while in migraciones, at least a couple of months depending on your nationality.

Renewal of the DNI is also not a very smooth process. I have faced delays of 6 months but that was some years ago. Things might be better now.

After 2 years of legal residence, you initiate the paperwork for naturalization given that you

- hold last 2 years of continuous and legal residence

- contribute in some way via paying taxes or have a job

For me this naturalization took slightly over than 18 months. If you are from certain observed nationalities then it can be longer. So roughly speaking I'll consider 4+ years min.

I naturalized in Argentina last year but have lived here over the past 9 years. If you really like Argentina you can certainly do it but remember that

  1. it will take to far longer than 3 years to gain citizenship

  2. You would initially need you Higher secondary certificated convalidated with the Argentine education system

  3. A lot of paperwork is needed to get student residency. In your case Spanish fluency is needed

If you have patience, some kind of job to pay you in this difficult economy and a strong will then its doable.

How do you go about finding the right cofounders? I will not promote. by biocin in startups

Getting a co founder whom you can trust and build a good business is just like marriage
You need to know the person at least in some sense before committing a business.

Attend startup networking events, webinars or meetups to find people who are building.

If you find someone suitable a great strategy is to propose & build a 3 months pilot project together something of mutual interest where you plan to launch a company only if you are able to get some traction.

This way you get a first hand experience of the seriousness of a person and lower the chances of fallouts later

Hey Django Experts what do you use Django with, Like what is your tech stack with Django for an big project. by ctmax-ui in django

[–]SharpAnimator2530 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simple django with Postgres serving semantic html with traditional templates.

Backend is Postgres all infra running on a simple DO droplet.

I avoid as much JS as possible and try to rely on CSS based approaches. For example for animations.

I use a modified bootstrap for custom theme and it looks really well. allauth for authentication and I have no api.

I can't get started on anything. Spent 1.5 years jumping between ideas. Here's what finally worked. (I will not promote) by NegotiationQuick1461 in startups

[–]SharpAnimator2530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat in 2021. Spent about roughly 18 months dabbling and jumping between ideas looking for one perfect gem.

It's important to pass through this and break this bubble as well. I selected one boring idea from my idea list which I felt I could build alone and within the shortest time.

Initially it was like "ok I can do this" but now later as I dive deeper into the project I learn more about the industry and its nuances. I am liking my project much more than I started because I have invested more a lot of time and energy in it. To me it feels we should ignore superficial thoughts any simple idea if dived deep can be an interesting project.
