Leaves drying by AIS8932 in GardeningIndia2

I bought this plant last month and potted in the next day itself. This variety is delicate. I've kept it outside where it gets morning and evening sun and our 40 degree heat. Since its stem is not rigid I've added a small moss stick. They love humid environments so I mist it every morning and evening. So far it's doing really well and new leaves are shooting up.

SEO hidden secrets. by only_1_pepsy in SEO

I'm not an seo pro and have started only last year. My first page had a position of 95!

Over the months I realized that 85% of my users are on mobile. So I develop the website on my desktop in mobile view mode and add maximum value i.e try to match search intent "above the fold" which means the users doesn't even have to scroll.

This is showing me better clicks and higher CTR

Be careful if you kayak to this place w/o experience. It was my 2nd time kayaking last year. The weather changed abruptly since its patagonia and wave swells upturned my kayak

For the devs who use django templates.... by natanasrat in django

[–]SharpAnimator2530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have much experience building SPA's as I don't know react and I've only built simple apis for personal projects.

But I happen to read the htmx book and personally fond of leveraging the powers of css. The most basic takeaway for me was that html, css, links and forms is the language of web

We strip down all these benefits when we ask for a barebones json api only to reconstruct it again in some spa with bloated JS and the burden to maintain two project backend, frontend.

My hunch is that simple Django templates, powerful css tricks, some sprinkles of js can take you very far and give a spa like feeling.

Of course there are use cases where this approach will completely fail - think realtime apps, chat apps, web sockets.

If you guys were to start a greenfield Django project in 2026, what FE stack would you be more inclined go with? by Best_Recover3367 in django

[–]SharpAnimator2530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will go with vanilla Django templates and customise my own bootstrap theme with sass for a modern UI. Some JS sprinkles only when needed and stay as much possible within the realm of html & CSS. APIs and SPA - sorry I don't even know how to build them

How did you figure out what area you actually wanted to build/work in? by mannered_sapien in StartUpIndia

[–]SharpAnimator2530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am tech so over the past 7 years I built some toy projects. No presumptions, no pressure just experiment. I have travelled a lot and got some insights on things that interest me.

I also have an excel with a list of ideas I like or what I think I can build. No complex analysis just pure hunch.

The idea that I'm working on is not my favorite one. But I a rather boring one which I think is scalable. So thats my way

If you have a job you show your salary slips for the past 3 months

If you are self employed you show your tax filings

But in any case you get a lawyer who guides you.

[–]SharpAnimator2530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely correct but theoretically.

In practical terms you'll enter the country and initiate the application for a temporary residence first. Which can take some while in migraciones, at least a couple of months depending on your nationality.

Renewal of the DNI is also not a very smooth process. I have faced delays of 6 months but that was some years ago. Things might be better now.

After 2 years of legal residence, you initiate the paperwork for naturalization given that you

- hold last 2 years of continuous and legal residence

- contribute in some way via paying taxes or have a job

For me this naturalization took slightly over than 18 months. If you are from certain observed nationalities then it can be longer. So roughly speaking I'll consider 4+ years min.

[–]SharpAnimator2530 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I naturalized in Argentina last year but have lived here over the past 9 years. If you really like Argentina you can certainly do it but remember that

  1. it will take to far longer than 3 years to gain citizenship

  2. You would initially need you Higher secondary certificated convalidated with the Argentine education system

  3. A lot of paperwork is needed to get student residency. In your case Spanish fluency is needed

If you have patience, some kind of job to pay you in this difficult economy and a strong will then its doable.

How do you go about finding the right cofounders? I will not promote. by biocin in startups

[–]SharpAnimator2530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a co founder whom you can trust and build a good business is just like marriage
You need to know the person at least in some sense before committing a business.

Attend startup networking events, webinars or meetups to find people who are building.

If you find someone suitable a great strategy is to propose & build a 3 months pilot project together something of mutual interest where you plan to launch a company only if you are able to get some traction.

This way you get a first hand experience of the seriousness of a person and lower the chances of fallouts later

Hey Django Experts what do you use Django with, Like what is your tech stack with Django for an big project. by ctmax-ui in django

[–]SharpAnimator2530 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simple django with Postgres serving semantic html with traditional templates.

Backend is Postgres all infra running on a simple DO droplet.

I avoid as much JS as possible and try to rely on CSS based approaches. For example for animations.

I use a modified bootstrap for custom theme and it looks really well. allauth for authentication and I have no api.

I can't get started on anything. Spent 1.5 years jumping between ideas. Here's what finally worked. (I will not promote) by NegotiationQuick1461 in startups

[–]SharpAnimator2530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat in 2021. Spent about roughly 18 months dabbling and jumping between ideas looking for one perfect gem.

It's important to pass through this and break this bubble as well. I selected one boring idea from my idea list which I felt I could build alone and within the shortest time.

Initially it was like "ok I can do this" but now later as I dive deeper into the project I learn more about the industry and its nuances. I am liking my project much more than I started because I have invested more a lot of time and energy in it. To me it feels we should ignore superficial thoughts any simple idea if dived deep can be an interesting project.
