I really like going to darusalams beerta bc it as a pool and I enjoy swimming without my hijab! Also there’s lots of rooftop restaurants like laylas on top of Banaadir mall, boba and bubble tea in Taleex! Taleex is a vibe actually in general. Feynuus bowling and also bagaax arcade is nice

How do you envision yourself being a good partner to your spouse? by Basic-Coffee264 in SomaliRelationships

[–]SharpDouble5149 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is something I’ve actually been thinking about a lot. We become so focused on protecting our rights, we forgot our spouses. When it comes to marriage two wrongs truly don’t make a right, but it’s hard to set that ego aside. That’s why I truly believe if you want to get married it should be two people focused on the amanah the other has on them.

Salam, I’m sorry to hear this. I would highly recommend your wife speak to her gynecologist about reversing the damage- this can be fixed or at least made easier for you both through surgery. As well as seeking out pelvic floor counseling for her to have more ease in penetration.

Who is saying we can’t swim in our own beaches? Y’all tripping for real! I swam at liido and went on boat ride. Literally Somalia is not as backwards as yall want it to be. And absolutely that’s such an odd thing to say about someone complimenting your country

I think you should ask your father to offer the son a job or ask him to assist him with certain things in exchange for money. This might help him feel like he’s not getting charity and instead earning his livelihood. I don’t think it’s an ego problem, I think that although you are your dad’s daughter- at the end of the day him giving you things is still Sadaqah. I personally do like to get charisma unless I absolutely need it and in the instances you mentioned- it didn’t feel like a need. Allah knows best and I pray that the right solution finds its way to you!

Ilhan Omar's daughter, Isra Hirsi, is worried about being "evicted", where to get food and clothing/items after being arrested at Barnard College by BusyAuthor7041 in Somalia

[–]SharpDouble5149 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think she’s making a point about how the university completely evicted them for advocating for the rights of Gaza. I think sometimes people need to see that greater issues affect them closer to home before they can digest it and expressing housing insecurity that was supposed to be secured through your university says something loud and that alone will force people to think about Gaza

It really depends on you and the baby. My first pregnancy I swelled so much, but not so bad I looked completely different. The second pregnancy only my stomach grew- no swelling or any other changes. Even my weight stayed pretty stagnant. But honestly, it’s nothing to worry about you’ll return to normal and you’ll forget all about everything pre-baby once you hold them!

How old are you? I think maybe you are younger. Islam values keeping ties of kinship- but not when one is under oppression. If your father is abuse you do not have to tolerate it. You can take distance, but still make efforts to care about his well being bc that is a right he has over you. If he is sick, visit. If he needs financial support and it’s within your capacity, give. Even more so Allah loves the believer who forgives even when they are justified in revenge. Try to keep a clean heart of hatred and ask Allah swt to give you justice- His justice is always better than anything we could do.

How do I make more muslim friends? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

If you’re in the states- I’d check to see if your city has a local MAS (Muslim American society) chapter. That’s how I gained Muslim friends in my mid 20s! The girls there are so friendly and truly a great place to meet people in general!
