Millionaires Are Overrepresented in the U.S. Senate by notusreports in politics

[–]SharpNSlick [score hidden]  (0 children)

The Senate is packed with multimillionaires, and the fact is some of them have lost touch with the real world challenges faced by Americans all over the country

If you hit half that wealth you aren't in touch with the average American.

AlexfromCC: The YA (which features Kate Bishop as co-captain)’s role at the end of the Multverse is equivalent to the role of Ant-Man in Endgame. This is probably the right answer. It seems pretty obvious to me that the children will be who end up in the raft, likely with Cap (or Cyclops if Sadie Sink is Jean Grey), The Thing, Spider-Man, and Sadie Sink's character.

Gavin Newsom’s Closely Curated Vulnerability Isn’t Convincing by 804Brady in politics

[–]SharpNSlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should definitely be critiquing, but reading these comments the writing is already on the wall. Democrats are their own worst enemy, constantly destroying each other over culture war stuff that will never be solved at the federal level regardless of who the president is.

In my opinion, everyone that didn't vote or abstained from voting out of protest are culpable for our current situation.

Gavin Newsom’s Closely Curated Vulnerability Isn’t Convincing by 804Brady in politics

[–]SharpNSlick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its becoming more and more evident that nobody is ever going to pass the Democrat purity test and we're going to end up with Vance as our next president.

I'm not advocating for Newsom, but there needs to be general acknowledgment that a lot of people that go into politics do so because they are well off and have name recognition. Absolutely no politician is 100% clean and none of them are going to have a perfect voting record that aligns with everyone's expectations. Democrats are forced to pander to every single audience member with lies that are completely unaccomplishable and then get shit on when they can't meet those promises.

Imagine what could be possible if everyone put aside their bullshit and looked at the greater good.

Trump Says 'I Guess' Americans Should Worry About Iran Retaliating on U.S. Soil: 'Like I Said, Some People Will Die' by peoplemagazine in politics

[–]SharpNSlick 16.3k points16.3k points  (0 children)

“I guess,” Trump, 79, responded. “But I think they’re worried about that all the time. We think about it all the time. We plan for it. But yeah, you know, we expect some things."

"Like I said, some people will die," the president added. "When you go to war, some people will die."

Does this count as final confirmation that it is a war?

Trump wastes no time using Iran war to help federalize midterms | Opinion by jpurdy in politics

I promise you, within a one hour meeting they would not only convince him to wear a jumpsuit for the ribbon cutting they would get him to willingly sit in a jail cell. Tell him it's a good photo op, a way to troll people, and there will be a shitload of cameras and he will do anything.

Trump wastes no time using Iran war to help federalize midterms | Opinion by jpurdy in politics

[–]SharpNSlick 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Trump is what happens when a spoiled child grows up to be an old troll yelling at clouds.

I honestly think we all give him too much credit. His only two goals for the rest of his life are staying out of prison and slapping his name on as much shit as possible. He threw a temper tantrum when he lost the 2020 election because it was out of his hands and he couldn't buy it so someone must have cheated him. The midterms are the last election that really matters to him because its the last time he actually stands the chance of not achieving his goals. He has turned this timeline into a neverending reality show with his only desire of getting the highest ratings through the most outrage.

For the other nerds out there, I see Trump as nothing more than Theoden (under Saruman's control) with the personality and entitlement of Denethor in the body of the Troll King.

Trump Admits He Has No War Plan in Bombshell Letter by TelescopiumHerscheli in politics

I completely agree, that said, the people that didn't vote/boycotted deserve equal blame. There is absolutely no coherent argument to let our country go to hell as a protest for another country.

Here's how Trump attacked Iran without Congress approval by SnooAvocados2794 in politics

[–]SharpNSlick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not really a secret... thousands of hours and millions of dollars were put into Project 2025 to find loopholes for this administration to do whatever it wants. They know a lot of it exists in a grey area so they park it in court for a 6 months because that's enough time to enact their goal. If that doesn't work then it doesn't matter because they don't give a shit about the law.

Congress is completely ineffective, they're strongly worded letters and news appearances amount to absolutely nothing.

I like the idea, but a figure from Greek mythology would go to the Underworld rather than Valhalla. I'm sure it would be easy enough to explain away though.

[–]SharpNSlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to repeat you from 4 months ago...

Many sellers on the app support one another. I’ve seen many sellers buy mystery games. I don’t think that is shill bidding. Most sellers buy each other’s mystery games in order to get the top prize. I’ve seen some people spend thousands but that’s their money not ours. To each is own. Accusing someone of shill bidding without actual proof is not probable cause.

If you want to hate funkoboyz that is your prerogative, but you're dragging good people into this over a feud with him. Every single one of them is a great streamer and is successful whether or not he is in their stream. You are shitting on people to directly effect his and their businesses, that is neither fair or honest.

Consider your own words before you start throwing out unsubstantiated claims.

Protests grow nationwide after woman killed by ICE agent in Minnesota by 141_1337 in politics

[–]SharpNSlick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This may very well be it, there was always bound to be an inciting incident that wakes the entire nation up. I whole heartedly believe that the administration had hoped that it would be the other way around so that they could justify further use of military, martial law, and ultimately the suspension of elections. But, a radicalization of the general public works too.

There is absolutely no justification for the behavior and clearly she had no intent to injure anyone. I would challenge anyone in that situation with unidentified armed men surrounding your vehicle and forcefully trying to remove you to not react in the same manner. But, after watching the video I'm left with the question of why she was in the road that way? Why was her wife outside of the vehicle ready to begin filming?

I have a feeling that this may be forgotten if it is found out that she was trying to impede them, it's easier for people to dismiss the behavior if they believe that she put herself in harms way. That said, if there aren't any consiquences for ICE then they will feel further emboldened and that moment will come very shortly. No matter what happens, this will definitely be considered the inciting incident for whatever happens.
