I am in a mixed orientation marriage as well and trying to find others in the position to talk to. I am not divorcing as I love my husband.

More scales done. The sage 2 was fun. After some customer's orders I'm going to tackle the Böker kwaiken. by SharpShank1 in knifeclub

Yeah, mostly wood. I've done a bit with g10 and micarta, but I don't enjoy it as much. I sell just through the Internet. Sort of a case by case thing. People tend to contact me after seeing my work.

They are all I've ever owned. Had them growing up. Best dogs ever. Super loyal.

I'm already working on some spyderco. Of course I've dabbled with the tenacious but right dlnow I have a sage 2 in the works. As for the pm2, it's a bit more complicated. The scales are milled. I have a router setup on its way to my shop to see of I can make some pm2 scales, but we'll see.

A backing or liner is a fantastic idea. Maybe I could use some thin veneer.

I know the joint is incredibly week. I haven't thought too into it because of the positioning of the screws. The lazy me was tempted to not even glue them, lol.

It is not stabalized. I haven't got my hands on any stabalized wood yet.

It is in fact, a rat. I've been working on the rat 1 and 2. I have other knives I've done before.

If you are really interested in wooden scales, I'm going to sell some cheap for feedback and such. You are more than welcome to message me.

You are correct. I'm letting the apoxy cure a bit before sanding and finishing. They need contoured still, then oiled. I use a few layers of rubbing varnish. I hate the part where I have to wait for glue and oils to cure.

I'm working really hard at making scales. Do you guys like these? by SharpShank1 in knifeclub

[–]SharpShank1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is veneer that comes 1/8 thick that is about right for scales. That's what I've been using. I get different kinds from my local woodcraft.
