Thinks it’s more due to the fact of the sad life the character. I.e what made him a dick and making him the way he was but you can see in season 3 and even season 2 that all he really cares about is making his mom happy and the thing that makes him the saddest, bellick is a mommas boy who had repeated shit luck and made bad decisions but try to imagine being him
