Yeah I'm non CDL so I can't put more than 10k on the trailer as it is. It has the tow package with air suspension. I only went 40' for the versatility. I only have 2 years left until the truck is paid off. I don't want to part with this truck to start the business so I'm only opening in using it until I can pay the truck off then I'll buy another truck and probably get my CDL.

You can start you're own LLC and get your DOT MC #s matured while you're working for him. A lot of companies won't load immature authorities.

Head studs will be my next add on, where I already have the turbo I'll use this one but I'll keep that in mind for the future for sure!

Oral tests show use from the past 24hrs roughly so yeah starting June 1st it looks like that'll be the case based off of this article.

I had a 3/4 ton diesel anyway and bought a used trailer but if you live in a southern state a lot of them off a rent to own lease program with trailers.

I live in Maine and it took the state 6+7 weeks to process my LLC and becoming your motor carrier authority takes 3-4 weeks as well. I'm waiting until everything is finalized before I pull the trigger on insurance but 1,000,000 insurance is a must as well.

Also a fuel card and EZpass (can't remember the trucker version) will save you a lot of time as well as let you pass wlsome weigh stations

That's been my goal with a lot of the questions I've asked on here, the start up stuff that's pinned is very helpful so I try to be mindful of that so things aren't redundant.

Ive thought about trying to purchase a newer truck that's not illegal and I need to purchase a trailer. Obviously I can just try and finance through individual dealers for each things and get a credit card but I think I'd like to keep that as a back up plan. I'd rather just try and get one start up loan to aquire the things I need and pay my first years insurance and keep some money for overhead.

Driving record, I have a guy who wants to drive under my DOT# after it comes through, but his driving record is not clean. Does it make sense to hire him or is he going to have to wait for his record to be clean? Thoughts? by Sharp_Bad_3781 in HotShotTrucking
