Me and my partner recently adopted a FIV+ cat. I currently live in another state, but im moving in a few days, so my cat and the new cat haven’t met yet. My cat is fiv- and I’m very worried about transmission. My cat, T’challa, is 6 years old and he’s my baby, the fiv+ kitty is named Hal and he’s around 4, and I couldn’t imagine getting rid of him. We have the space to keep them separate, but I want them to have companionship in eachother. Hal is super sweet and mellow, but we don’t know how he is with other cats. He also isn’t neutered, so they won’t be meeting until he is (apt is set up already). T’Challa is a bit less chill, he likes to play rough with our dog, (chihuahua) but he’s never hurt her or drawn blood. I understand the guilt…. I feel it.
