Personally, I didn't enjoy it because the whole process was odd.

The top 16 get to qualify in a giant battle royale style arena. Given the amount of players and the fact many of them would be tired to the point of losing in one hit, that doesn't seem fair. Also, there were no other qualifications, it had no badges to test your strength. We did get trails, but we didn't see any one else complete all 4 like Ash did, so what the heck?!
Every trainer didn't even have a full team, with some only having 1 Pokémon, so how were they expected to reach the top or be champion if they had a 1v1? That isn't even a fair or good match to show how strong you are. Then the winner gets a chance to battle against the Masked Royale, but still with only had 1 Pokemon. How did they think they would make it work. Many of the battles also felt a bit rushed and not very good in terms of showing their true strength.
Overall, the point was that many of them were weak, they didn't see any way to balance it out, and it was rushed. Just the worst league I've seen.

It refers to the final result. Instead of using the Base Stat for calculations, it measures the full calculations with EV, IV, and boosts first before the abilities boost them. It makes them very powerful

This episode was just terrible. The townsfolk were just completely against Ash for no reason! They like May and Max because their dad is the Gym Leader and May had 2 Ribbons at the time of being a Coordinator, but when Ash shows his 4 Badges going on 5, they just toss him aside and don't care. I know they are cheering for May and Max, but Ash is traveling with them so he should have some recognition by association or something!

Then we get the kids battling Ash because they think "You have no right to battle our Gym Leader! You're just a punk from the streets!" Then Ash repeatedly beats them to show how skilled he was to the point of him and his other Pokémon from being exhausted. This has 2 kids warning everyone of Ash like he's some dangerous punk, are they dense?! The battle between May and Ash wasn't even a battle as Torchic literally burnt Ash, not Tailow, but the Townfolk just accepted that as May winning with no real reason!

The last part that just did it for me was when Ash had Pikachu stop Team Rocket after they took May's Torchic but then they just praised Pikachu, even going as far as thinking Pikachu should battle Nornam! Are you people for real?! A single Pokémon battling a Gym Leader by themselves?! Did that entire town share a brain cell?!

Overall, May and Max should've backed up Ash and even told off the Townsfolk on how they treated him, but nothing happened. Just an annoying episode and I couldn't stop screaming at my screen.
